13 hurt in Koronadal highway mishap
KORONADAL CITY
– A malfunctioned brake system triggered a loaded passenger jeepney to turn
turtle along a highway in Koronadal City over the weekend.
Passengers,
including the jeepney driver, are now confined at South Cotabato provincial
hospital due to bruises and injuries sustained when the vehicle they were
riding in with license plate MFA 974 turned upside down along Barangay Paraiso,
Koronadal City, Saturday dawn.
Police traffic
officers said the jeepney driver, Ian Campo, 26 told police a busted brake
system triggered the mishap.
Wounded were
Campo, Tol Talandigan, 8, Amina Otap, 51, Laga Puisan 42, Hadji Muson 70, Ian
Trojillo 27, Munisa Hasgan 61, Norhamin Matiman 18, Rasul Soc 20, Rasul Guiadan,
25, Dayana Tamcambong, Ramil Mamidlo and a 12-year-old male teenager, all
resident of Gen. Paulino Santos.
Police said
Barangay Paraiso is among the accident prone areas in Koronadal City, thus
traffic officers frequently remind commuters and motorists to take extra care when
traveling the crash site.
