Region 12's 2nd most wanted shabu dealer neutralized

COTABATO CITY  --- A police team killed the second most wanted shabu trafficker in central Mindanao in a brief gunfight in Polomolok town in South Cotabato Tuesday.

The 38-year-old Taugan Usman Vicente died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

Agents who were to entrap him in Barangay Crossing Palkan in Polomolok neutralized him instead when he pulled out a pistol after sensing that the person buying P80,000 worth of shabu from him is a non-uniformed policeman.

Gov't forces, MILF members together destroy marijuana farm

MAGUINDANAO -- Combined personnel of the Datu Montawal municipal police, the Army’s 7th Infantry Battalion and members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front on Sunday uprooted more than a thousand marijuana shrubs found in Datu Montawal town.

MILF leader Hadji Abdullah Hamsa and Capt. Razul Pandulo, chief of the Datu Montawal municipal police, are now trying to identify the propagators of the marijuana shrubs planted neatly in rows on patches arable lands in an interior area at the border of Montawal and Pagalungan town, also in Maguindanao.

Nighttime grenade blast rocks Pikit town 

COTABATO CITY  --- A powerful explosion ripped through a residential site in Pikit, North North before midnight Sunday causing panic among villagers in the area.

Captain Mautin Panandigan, chief of the Pikit municipal police, said Monday someone shot with a 40 millimeter  grenade projectile using a launcher the house of public school principal Abdulkadir Bedtog Buda in Fort Pikit area and escaped after the explosive went off.

South Cotabato village chair gunned down in Polomolok town

KORONADAL CITY  -- A barangay chair in Polomolok, South Cotabato has not reached 2020 after he was gunned down a day before the New Year ushered in Tuesday afternoon.

Lt. Colonel Lino Capellan, speaking for police in Region 12, said Chairperson Abdullah Nilong II of Barangay Lapu had just emerged from a drug store when a man wearing helmet opened fire on him from behind.

Nilong was walking along Miranda Street at the town’s public market when shot in the head and body at past 1 p.m. Tuesday.

RPOC-12 holds year-end meeting, pushes for end to communism, terrorism

KIDAPAWAN CITY – North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco has called on all members of the Soccsksargen Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) to fully support President Duterte’s desire to end communist-led armed conflict in the country.

Catamco has moved for the passage of a resolution expressing all out support to Pres. Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70, more known as the “whole of nation approach” in addressing communist insurgency.

NPA fighter yields to NoCot gov

COTABATO CITY  -  North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco on Thursday afternoon accepted the surrender of a 54-year-old communist rebel who decided to be with his family this Christmas.

Catamco welcomed Paquito Mamites during simple surrender rites at Barangay Don Panaca, Magpet, North Cotabato.

Colonel Gabriel Viray, the Army’s 901st Infantry Brigade commander, who accompanied Catamco in the surrender site, said Mamites is a member of the New People's Army and he has been traced as former resident of Barangay Balite, also in Magpet.

Man with hand gun caught at Talayan checkpoint

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – A man in possession of a loaded gun was caught by the Army’s 90th Infantry Battalion at a checkpoint on Monday, November 18, 2019, in Barangay Kiladap, Talitay, Maguindanao.

The suspect, identified as Zaidbunan Esmael, a resident of Barangay Tambunan of Talayan town, was caught with a calibre .45 pistol with 2 magazines and 16 rounds of ammunition.

Esmael was riding a black Honda HRM motorcycle when he was caught at the military checkpoint.

Army shells Dawlah Islamiya lairs in Maguindanao

MAGUINDANAO ---- Three more members of the Dawlah Islamiya terror group were reported killed as the Army bombarded with artillery its remaining hideouts in Shariff Saidona Mustapha on Thursday.

Local officials and barangay leaders said the offensive, the second since last week, forced Dawlah Islamiya gunmen to scamper further into the Liguasan Delta carrying four wounded companions, two of them nephews of the wanted terrorist Abu Toraife.

P6.8 million worth of shabu seized in latest PDEA-BARMM bust

MAGUINDANAO --- Government agents seized P6.8 million worth of shabu from two drug dealers arrested in an entrapment operation Thursday in Shariff Aguak town.

Samrod Mamasainged Damada and Norodin Datala were frisked and cuffed while about to sell their illegal merchandise to non-uniformed agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
