Civilians discover BIFF IEDs, turn it to Army in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao -- The military here said civilians have voluntarily helping the military in the fight against ISIS inspired armed group in Maguindanao.A proof of this, according to Lt. Colonel Gerry Besana, chief of the 6th Infantry Divisions Civil Military Operations (CMO) Battalion, was the surrender of civilians of un-exploded ordnance they found in Datu Salibo, Maguindanao where the military and its allies, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) had been fighting Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) Esmael Abdulmalik faction.

MANILA-- The number of Maute group terrorists in the ongoing clearing operations in Marawi City has now climbed to 749.According to Joint Task Force Ranao deputy commander Col. Romeo Brawner, figures are as of 6 a.m. Saturday showed an increase of 13 from Friday's data.Civilians killed and executed by the lawless elements are still at 47 while rescued residents are at 1,733.Recovered firearms are now at 714 while number of slain government troops are now at 155 or two higher than Friday's figures.

Fire hits Koronadal residential areas, 1 hurt

KORONADAL CITY - Another fire hits Koronadal City, the second in two days and damaged a boarding house occupied by two families in Barangay Gen. Paulino Santos.The conflagration erupted at past 3 a.m. in the boarding house owned by Romeo Terso, 57.Terso told arson investigators the fire flared up at the room of Jade delos Santos, a pedicab driver. Manhunt on vs. 2 inmates who bolted North Cotabato jail

CITY – Police and jail officials here have launched
province-wide manhunt against two detainees who bolted jail Friday morning from
the North Coabato District Jail (NCDJ) in Barangay Amas here, a jail official said.

Jail Senior
Inspector Lucky Mer Latuela, deputy jail warden of NCDJ, identified the two
escapees as Johnny Elip who was facing rape charges and Ruben Jordan facing charges
of carnapping with frustrated homicide.
