HDAP-ARMM turns over drying facilities to farmers in Maguindanao

Datu Piang, Maguindanao – The Humanitarian and Development Assistance Program of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (HDAP-ARMM) turned over two units of multi-purpose solar drying pavements, worth P400,000 each, to cooperatives in barangays Poblacion and Dado in Datu Piang on Wednesday, January 10.Sonora Dagadas, municipal agriculture officer of Datu Piang, said the new drying facilities will directly benefit as many as 3,000 farmers not only from this town but from other areas in the province as well. BFAR-ARMM imposes 3-month sardine fishing ban in Sulu and Basilan

COTABATO CITY – For the seventh consecutive year, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BFAR-ARMM) is imposing a three-month closed season for fishing ‘tamban’, or Indian sardine, in the Sulu Sea and Basilan Strait.Jerusalem Abdulahim, chief of the Fisheries Regulatory and Law Enforcement Division of BFAR-ARMM, said the annual fishing ban is implemented to give time for tamban to reproduce.
