Why the baby was decapitated during delivery in Maguindanao hospital?
KIDAPAWAN CITY
– A baby was decapitated during delivery at the Buluan district hospital last week to save mother's life, health authorities today said.Dr. Elizabeth Samama, chief of Buluan district hospital, said physicians had to perform caesarean operation and decapitate the baby because the baby is already seven days dead inside the mother's womb. This is to
save the mother so we decapitated the head of the baby,” Samama told DXND Radyo
Bida in an exclusive interview Tuesday.
She said the
mother, who she did not identify, and her husband were informed of the
scenario. Including the relatives and the elders, they were duly informed and
issued written consent,” Samama added.
Samama said
the mother arrived in the hospital Sunday morning complaining of severe
pain. Suddenly, the
mother pushed repeatedly while on the operating table and the baby’s head came
out,” Samama said, adding that the mother could no longer push because she was
so weak.
We did everything
right and it saved the mother,” Samama said, adding that the baby was 4.8
kilograms, (10.50 pounds) talagang malaki siya (the baby was really big).”
