Tacurong LGU excels in citizen satisfaction index system

TACURONG CITY
(Sept. 17/NDBC) – The local government of Tacurong City has exceled in the
Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS) of theBureau of Local Government Supervision
(BLGS) of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

In a statement
released today, DILG-12 said the feat earned by Tacurong local government unit
was highlighted during the National Forum on CSIS 2013 Implementation cum
Orientation-Training for 2014 CSIS Implementation in San Juan City.

More than 100 participants,
composed of Division Chiefs/Assistant Division Chiefs, Regional Focal Persons,
CLGOOs/City Directors and representatives from selected Local Resource
Institutes (LRIs) who conducted the survey, attended the activity.

The National
Forum served as an avenue for review and consultation for what went well” and
what did not” in the 2013 CSIS implementation.

Resource
persons from the selected LRIs that were part of the 2013 Implementation shared
their best practices which could be applied during the next round of the
program implementation.

In Region XII,
only two cities were covered in the program - Tacurong and Kidapawan.The
results for the 2013 Implementation were presented during the Forum.

The national
summary report cited Tacurong City for several times having landed on the top 5
cities on Citizen Satisfaction Category in the different service areas rated
per Local Government Unit.

In
Agricultural Support, Tacurong landed as the top city (1st) with high rating of
79.07 percent. In Social
Welfare Services, Tacurong also landed as the top city (1st) with a high rating
of 73.36 percent. InSupport to
Basic Education, Tacurong obtained the 2nd top city with high rating of 75.69
percent. Tacurong also placed 3rd on Health Services with a high rating of
73.60 percent.

In Governance
and Response Area, Tacurong obtained 5th place with high rating of 66.45
percent.

Nationwide,
Tacurong was proclaimed 3rd placer on the overall Citizens’ Satisfaction
Category with a high 70.31 percent rating.

Laoag City
topped the list with 76.26 percent rating. Oroquieta City placed second in the
overall rankings with 73.17 percent. The cities of Dipolog and Sagay were 4th
and 5th, respectively.

The CSIS
endeavors to assess the reach and quality of basic government services on
health, basic education, social welfare, governance and response, public works
and infrastructure, environmental management, agriculture and tourism from the
point of view of the people as clients and as citizens.

Data are
gathered primarily through the conduct of survey administered face-to-face in
selected cities and municipalities nationwide. (NDBC/DILG)
