SoCot football squad ready for national competition, needs aid
KORONADAL CITY
(Sept. 9/NDBC) -— With football getting
more popular in the country, it was also getting famous here with a team from
this bustling city set to compete in the 2014 Philippine Football Federation
(PFF) SMART SMART Communications National Men’s Club championship group stage
qualifier.After
seven years of struggle and hard work, Real Marbel Football Club, is now ready
for regional and national competitions, according to Jake Calunsag.Calunsag,
the team’s training coach, said his 22-man team is composed of well trained and
well-disciplined football players.
It already had a test of how national players play and their brand of game when they met with one ofnation’s bests teams, including football players from
Mlang, North Cotabato.
They will
compete in the national event in Cebu City starting Sept. 18.
Speaking to DXOM-Radyo
Bida Koronadal, Calunsag appealed for more support and prayers from Marbelenios
once they start competing. Also, our
players were from poor families so any financial help is most welcome,” he
said.
The Real
Marbel Football Club is from Koronadal
City and we are representing the Football Association of South Cotabato
for this event, we already have our game plan, and what we need now is additional training for our players,” Calunsag said.
Though their
expenses is sponsored by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) the group is
still looking for additional benefactors that could help them with their
