ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat  - Catering to six of 12 municipalities in the province of Sultan Kudarat, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently turned over farm machineries and inputs to 12 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPS) in order to battle the effects of climate change and restore the planet's growth and rebirth.

Engr. Alinader M. Dima, CRFPS project coordinator of the DAR Provincial Office, said that 12 machineries were handed out to ARBO-recipients belonging to the municipalities of Lebak, Isulan, Lambayong, Lutayan, President Quirino and Columbio, and will benefit about 250 beneficiaries.

He added that these equipment include one unit coffee huller, one unit coffee roaster, four units corn sheller, five units hand tractor with trailer, and one unit peanut huller, amounting to a total of P1.95 million.

During the turnover and Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony, DAR Region 12 Assistant Regional Director for Admin and Support Services H. Roldan A. Ali challenged the proponents to make good use of the equipment given to them to ensure a steady or high income in order to provide for their families.

The ARBO representatives expressed their utmost gratitude to DAR and promised to do all they can to utilize the equipments provided to them at no cost or counterpart.

The CRFPS Project aims to support smallholder farmers, strengthen the resilience of their production systems as well as diversify and improve the marketing of their produce, for increased income.

The project will strengthen the resilience of smallholder farmers against adverse climate by improving access to production technologies and diversifying towards more climate-resilient crops.
