Security forces destroy marijuana plants seized in Tampakan, South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY - Umaabot sa P2.4 milyon na halaga ng marijuana plants ang sinunog ng mga otoridad sa bahagi ng Tampakan, South Cotabato.

Ang pagsira sa mga nakumpiskang mga tanim ay ginawa sa Sitio Tukaymal, Barangargy Tablu ng naturang bayan.

Sinugod ng pinagsamang pwersa ng PNP, PDEA-12 at mga kasapi ng 39th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army ang naturang lugar matapos makumpirma na may mahigit 12,000 na fully grown marijuana plants.

Kaagad naman itong binunot ng mga otoridad at sinunog sa mismong lugar dahil sa mahirap ang daan papunta doon.

Ayon kay PDEA-12 Regional Director Naravy Duquiatan, nakatakas ang tagapangalaga ng marijuana plantation bago dumating ang mga otoridad ayon sa PNP.  Kinilala ito na si Jimben Sinaya taga Sitio Bongsbang, Barangay Danlag.

Kasong paglabag sa RA 9165 ang inihahanda laban kay Sinaya.

Nagdala ang PNP ng ilang tanim upang magsilbing katibayan sa pagsasampa ng kaso laban sa suspect.
