Radioman shot dead in Zamboanga del Sur
PAGADIAN CITY– The National Union of Journalists in the Philippines (NUJP) today reported another one (of its own) bites the dust. In a statement, the NUJP reported that aradio broadcaster in Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur was shot to death around 8 p.m. Tuesday.In a media alert, the NUJP, identified the victim asElvis Ordaniza, who was in his 50s. He sustainedtwo bullet wounds in his chest from a cal. 45 handgun. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.Quoting a police report, the NUJP said Ordanizawas shot while inside his residence. A rebel returnee,Ordaniza, was a reporter for radio station DXWO Power 99-FM based in Pitogo town.Ordaniza has been publicly denouncing illegal drugs and illegal logging in Zamboanga del Sur prior to his murder.
