Pikit UCCP Church bombing suspect falls
PIKIT, North
Cotabato —- Police here announced the arrest of the prime suspect in
the bombing of a UCCP Church here in October last year that left three persons
dead and three others wounded.
This after a
man tipped off the local PNP about the presence of the suspect in a safehouse
in Barangay Poblacion.
Inspector
Sindato Karim, the town’s police chief said, suspect Mastur Edu Akil die not
resist arrest after he was surrounded by troops while in his hideout in one of
the residences in Barangay Poblacion at 7:30 on Wednesday night.
Akil is facing
several criminal charges of murder, multiple murder, carnapping and several
criminalities.
He was tagged as
the mastermind of the UCCP bombing that killed three persons and wounded three
others
while an
ongoing prayer meeting was held last October 2014.
Karim said
police have been hunting down Akil after several warrants of arrests issued
against him.
Aside from
church bombing, he was also involved in the slay try of a local police and
killing of a local mediaman in Pikit town.
Tactical
interrogation is underway. The suspect Akil is temporarily detained at Pikit
municipal station.
