PhilHealth XII nakiisa sa 25th year ng pagsasabatas ng IPRA law

KORONADAL CITY - Bilang suporta sa ika dalawampu’t limang anibersaryong pagpapatupad ng Indigenous People’s Rights and Acts  o IPRA Law ngayong 2022, ang PhilHealth XII ay nagsagawa ng malawakang pagpapatala ng mga indigenous community members.

Ito ay sa pamamagitan ng pagdalo sa malawakang “Kasalang Tribu” ng South Cotabato mula October 18 sa Lake Sebu, October 19 sa Tupi, October 20 sa Polomolok, October 21 sa Tampakan; October 24 sa T’boli at October 25 sa lungsod ng Koronadal.

Ayon sa National Commission on Indigenous Peoples o NCIP, layunin nitong ma-institutionalized ang civil registration ng mga Indigenous Peoples o IPs.

“Kailangan nang ma institutionalize ang listahan ng mga IPs para sa kanilang birth, death at marriage records at kinakailangan na silang ma-empower para sa kanilang mga legal rights,” ayon kay Atty. Adolf Ryan Lantion, Legal Hearing Officer, NCIP Region XII.

Ang mga Marriage Certificates lamang na merong Local Civil Registry (LCR) ang natatanging dokumentong niri require ng PhilHealth para sa deklarasyon ng legal spouse.

Upang sila ay maisyuhan ng kanilang marriage certificates, ang mga LGUs ay nagpadala ng mga Local Civil Registrar’s representatives.

Dahil dito, inaasahang sa darating na mga araw at sa susunod pang mga taon ay madadagdagan ang mga IPs na magkaroon nang maayos na legal documents na kanilang maaring gamitin hindi lamang sa PhilHealth kundi pati na rin sa iba pa nilang karapatan bilang mga mamamayan ng bansa.
