NCCA honors 2 hip-hop dancers from South Cotabato
KORONADAL CITY - For
giving honor to the country, a hip hop group in South Cotabato will be conferred with a prestigious award by the
National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). Macz Alminaza and JayR Melody of the famed xtreme dancers
will be this year’s recipient of NCCA’s Dangal ng Ani Award. The awarding ceremony will be held in Old Senate Hall of the
National Museum in Manila on February 12. Alminaza and Melody bested five other Asian Countries when
they emerged as top winners in the 6th Gatsby Dance Competition in
Tokyo Japan in March 2014. The were the first dancers to have captured the Senior Grand
Champion Performer of the World Award in World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA)
in Hollywood, USA last July 2014. WCOPA participated by countries around the world was
considered as the Olympics in the field of performing arts. Grey Doctolero, Xtreme dancers manager and mentor is thankful

Ani ng Dangal or Harvest of Honor” is a state recognition
given by the NCCA under the office of the President of the Republic of the
Philippines. It is an annual event celebration as highlight and concluding rites of the Philippine Arts
Festival.
