Kidapawan village chairand Speed limit ordinance saves lives
KIDAPAWAN CITY - A village chair said a speed limit ordinance will help prevent, if not totally stopped, highway accident along the stretch of Barangays Lanao, Balindog and Paco, Kidapawan City.Marites Villanueva, village chair of Barangay Balindog, the village council is considering to adopt a city ordinance imposing speed limit on all types of vehicles and strictly enforce the samefollowing the bloody highway accident Monday night.In that incident, where a hauler truck lost its brake system and rammed on at least 10 vehicles at past 7 p.m., has left one dead tricycle driver and injured31 others. This portion of the highway is descending from Batangay Lanao to Balindog to Paco, a speed limit will save lives, Villanueva said in Filipino.Among the solutions, aside from implementing speed limit is the presence of street lights.Early today, village officials and residents, led by Villanueva, conducted a prayer session along the highway for the safety of all commuters and residents of the villages.
