Insecticide room spray downs Mlang couple

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Health officials in Mlang, North Cotabato believed a China-made insecticide triggered the illness a couple had experience that landed them in the hospital.Dr. Jun Sotea,Mlang Municipal Health Officer, told DXND Radyo Bida thatthe couple, Pet and Manuel Mindarus, bought the aerosol spray and used it for their room when they started complaining ofnausea and abdominal disorder.Sotea said after learning of the incident, he ordered an investigation. He learned that the alien smell of the insecticide was believed to be the culprit.Pet Mindarus said she brought the insecticide at about noonfrom a store at the town public market in a surprisingly cheap price. At home, Manuel sprayed the bed room with the aerosol and slept.Within minutes, they complained of dizziness and stomach disorder so they were rushed to the hospital.Informed of the incident, Mayor Lito Pinol ordered the town health chief to conduct inspection and remove suspicious insecticide and agricultural chemicals that are harmful to humans.
