Cotabato City school conflict over-reported - PNP

COTABATO CITY - Senior Supt. Rex Anongos, Cotabato City police director, today denied a conflict exist between teachers, students and parents ofPilot Provincial Science and Technology High
School in Barangay1, Cotabato City.Anongos denied reports that armed men barged inside the school compound on August 20 and threatened school officials of bodily harm. As requested by the school administrator, Anongos said he ordered the deployment of police peacekeepers in the school premises.Anongos said a misunderstanding erupted between and among students. The school guidance office tried to settlemisunderstanding when armed men arrived and threatened school officials.A check by DXMS Radyo Bida team showed the school's guidance office was in disarray after the armed men barged inside. Classes were also suspended for a day last week to prevent violence.Most teachers and students refused to talk in details of the incident.Despite this, Anongos said the case was a petty misunderstanding among students and hope school officials will settle it peacefully.DeptEd officials are addressing the problem, DXMS Radyo Bida learned.
