Colorum passenger vans from Cotabato area seized in Davao
DAVAO CITY – At least seven colorum Public Utility Vans (PUV) were apprehended by the Task Force Colorum after Acting Mayor Paolo Duterte ordered a crackdown of vans plying between Davao City and neighboring provinces following the explosion two weeks near the SM Passenger Van Terminal.In an interview, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Milgrace Driz said that the task force was composed of different traffic apprehending agencies namely, the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), Traffic Group, Highway Patrol Group, Land Transportation Office and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. The operation was conducted following the mandate of city hall particularly from the Vice Mayor (Paolo Duterte), different traffic law agencies were deployed to conduct the operation,” Driz said.Driz also said that the mandate was also connected to the recent bombing incident that involves a UV express van that injured the driver’s helper.She said that authorities were tasked to be more vigilant in apprehending traffic violators and the colorum vans coming in and out of the city. Most of the apprehended vans were coming from Cotabato area, however the apprehension was conducted in the entire city,” Driz added.All apprehended vans were brought to the motor impounding section of the LTO.
