Cardinal Quevedo blesses refurbished Archdiocesan Mausoleum
COTABATO CITY - His
Eminence Orlando Cardinal Beltran Quevedo, OMI, DD, archbishop of Cotabato,
today blessed the newly refurbished Mausoleum at the back of the Immaculate
Concepcion Cathedral.
The Mausoleum hosts
the remains of the Archbishop Gerard Mongeau, OMI, DD and Archbishop Philip
Smith, OMI, DD, both former archbishops of Cotabato.
Accompanying Cardinal Quevedo, who
earlier celebrated the Holy Eucharist commemorating his 35th Episcopal
Ordination, were Auxiliary Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo, DCC, DD and
priests belonging to the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) and the Diocesan
Clergy of Cotabato (DCC).
Inside the Mausoleum were two tombs.
At left was for the remains of Archbishop Mongeau and at right was Archbishop
Smith’s remains.
Archbishop Mongeau died at the Notre
