Army, NGOs bring joy to pupils of Maguindanao school
TACURONG CITY – As part of its community service and efforts to win peoples thrust and support, the Army’s 40th Infantry "Magiting" Battalion, under the leadership of Lt. Colonel Rogelio S. Gabi, distributed school supplies and slippers to the pupils of an elementary school in one of its areas of operation.
The activity was held recenlty at the Midpandacan Elementary School in Barangay Midpandacan, General Salipada K Pendatun, Maguindanao in time culmination of the Nutrition Month Celebration. Gen. SK Pendatun town is about 15 kilometers north of here.
Gabi said the activity was also an opportunity for school children to have free haircut and receive supplemental feeding.

Mayor Rafsanjani Ali sponsored packs of Jollibee chicken joy meals for the teachers and pupils with the Jollibee mascot providing entertainment.
Gabi said the activity with the theme "Balik-Eskwelang Handog ng Magiting Troopers" is a joint project of the 40th IB together with the “Magiting Ladies Club,” headed by adviser Ma. Catherine A Gabi and Club President Rosalie Angot, Junior Chamber International led by its President Monaliza L. Abdul and Ramjie Y Odin; UP Hamili Brotherhood and Sisterhood represented by Kristian Seguia and the LGU- GSKP led by Mayor Ali.
Representatives from the organizations took turns in giving inspiring messages to the pupils, urging them to study hard to become productive members of society.
"Forgiveness is the foundation of peace," Mayor Ali said urging everyone to forgive anyone who have done something wrong.
Speaking to pupils, Colonel Gabi urged them to work hard and study diligently so that in turn they can help in improving their communities and Gen. SK Pendatun town.
The “Balik-Eskwelang Handog ng Magiting Troopers” benefited a total of 250 pupils who have expressed gratefulness for the blessings shared by 40IB troopers and partner organizations.
