2 suspects in murder of Magpet internet cafe owner yield

KIDAPAWAN CITY -- After hiding for at least amonth, with conscience bothering them, the two suspects in the murder of a 60-year-old internet cafe owner in Magpet, North Cotabatoyielded to police authorities Wednesday, the town police office said.Senior Inspector Felix Fornan, Magpet police chief, identified the suspects in the cold blood murder of Isidro Alpas as Jackie Salde, 18 of Polomolok, South Cotabato and Jay Boy Bayaan, 18 of Barangay Bantac, Magpet.Fornan said the two voluntarily surrendered to the Polomolok town police office.On Wednesday, Fornan and a team from Magpet PNP fetched the two in Polomolok and detained them at the local police detention cell.Charges of frustrated murder have been filed against the two.Fornan said investigation showed the suspects, and another man believed to have masterminded the crime but remained at large, only wanted to rob Alpas but he resisted.He was stabbed 13 times in various parts of his body. The suspects then fled with cash and other valuables.A witness positively identified Salde and Bayaan as the perpetrators.The third suspect is still the subject of police manhunt.
