2 priest assume post left by Fr. Jake in Kidapawan diocese

KIDAPAWAN CITY — The Board of Consulters’ of the Diocese of Kidapawan (DCK) has filled in the posts leftby Father Rogelio Jake” Nim DCK who died on June 23 due to cardiac arrest. Monsignor Carlito Garcia, Diocesan Administrator, said Fr. Gerardo Jerry” Tacdoro, DCK was designated as the officer-in-charge of Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary while Father Hepolito Pol” Paracha, DCK was namedas acting Social Action director of the diocese. Garcia clarified that the designation of the two priests were just temporary while the diocese has no bishop yet following the transfer of Bishop Romulo Dela Cruz, DD to the archdiocese of Zamboanga in 2013. The board of consulters’ have high hopes with these two priests to continue and handle the positions left by Fr. Jake,” Father Garcia said. Fr. Paracha is the current parish priest of President Roxas, North Cotabato while Fr. Tacdorois the Notre Dame Schools administrator in the town of Matalam and Magpet. Though it means additional tasks to our priests, they accepted it with pride and dignity so theycan continue the programs left by Fr. Jake,” Garcia said. Garcia admitted that he is carrying very heavy tasks as administrator but said he is thankful to the cooperation of his fellow diocesan priests, including the lay ministers and the parishioners, in running the affairs of the diocese. Garcia said he is hopeful that Pope Francis will name new bishop in the diocese of Kidapawan. While we are praying to have new bishop, only time and the Holy Spirit can fulfill our hope,” Garcia explained. He said many bishops in the countryhave retired but only few took the posts they left. We hope a new bishop will come very soon, he said. The diocesan administrator reiterated his appeal to the parishioners to pray so current priests will remain in good health and continue serving the Lord. Your prayers are our strength. So please pray foryour priests, he appealed.
