101 informal settlers get home lot in Kidapawan housing project

KIDAPAWAN CITY - The Kidapawan City government has officially turned over ownership of home lots for residents living near rivers and creeks government agencies believed to be at risk of calamities.After more than a year of waiting, the beneficiaries, 101 of them, are sure of getting relocated in a resettlement area in Barangay Magsaysay.A drawing of lots was held Tuesday, according to Councilor Judith Navarra, chairperson of Sangguniang Panglungsod committee on housing.More than 260 more beneficiaries failed to participate in the drawing of lots due to lack of documentary requirements likecertificate of non-land holding, voter’s affidavit, income tax return, community certificate and others..
Each lot is 72 square meters under the Pabahay project of the Kidapawan City government with funding of P24 millionfrom the National Housing Authority.It aims to relocate villagers, mostly informal settlers, living beside creeks and rivers which are flood prone and landslide prone areas.
