3 rape suspects, alleged child molester arrested in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY --- The police arrested three rape suspects and an alleged child molester in separate operations the past two days in South Cotabato province.

In a statement Saturday, the South Cotabato Provincial Police said personnel of the T’boli municipal police first arrested after a longtime surveillance Arjie Tosol Salan, respondent to a rape case pending at the Regional Trial Court Branch 45 in Surallah town.

Trafficker of endangered parrots arrested in Sarangani

SARANGANI --- The Maritime Police seized two endangered Eclectus parrots from a wildlife trafficker who sold both to non-uniformed policemen for P33,500 in Alabel town Tuesday.

In a statement Wednesday, the Sarangani Maritime Police unit identified the suspect as John Patrick Toribio, 28.

Toribio fell in a sting laid by Police Maritime agents and personnel of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office-Alabel.

57 NPAs operating in Sultan Kudarat yield, turn in guns

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat - Around 57 former rebels, including two females, operating in different areas of Sultan Kudarat province laid down their arms and decided to return to the folds of the law.

Provincial Social Welfare Officer Elenita Saavedra said that some of these rebel returnees surrendered starting year 2017 yet.

These surrenderees from the towns of Esperanza, Bagumbayan, Sen. Ninoy Aquino, Palimbang, Kalamansig and Columbio yielded to military & police operatives with their various firearms and ammunitions.

Cop tagged in N. Ecija lady Muslim trader's kidnap-slay yields

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – Another police officer allegedly involved in the kidnap-slay of a female online seller surrendered to local police here past noon on Thursday.

Lt. Col. Julius Caezar Manucdoc, city police chief, said Senior Master Sgt. Rowen Martin, 41, of San Leonardo town, was accompanied by lawyer Shiela Gatchalian.

The suspect, a member of the city police station, also surrendered his service firearm, a Glock 17 with serial no. PNP 26749.

60 persons arrested in 9-day police ops in GenSan 

GENERAL SANTOS CITY ---- The city police arrested 60 wanted law offenders in a series of operations from July 23 to 31.

In a statement Wednesday, the General Santos City Police Office said 39 of the arrested persons are wanted by different courts for various offenses.

The GSCPO said 17 others fell in separate anti-shabu entrapment operations during the period.

The rest were apprehended and clamped down for other offenses based on complaints.

20 `hanging parrots' seized from peddlers in Koronadal City 

KORONADAL CITY --- Authorities seized 20 endangered  Philippine hanging parrots from two illegal traders arrested here over the weekend.

The green hanging parrots (Loriculos Philippensis) are more known as "colasisi" in Southern Mindanao regions

Suspects Jay Suat and Charissa Amisola fell in a sting in Barangay Concepcion here, laid together by the Koronadal City Police and the agents from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-12.

BARMM police has 28 new bomb disposal operatives 

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro regional police has 28 more personnel trained in detection of improvised explosive devices using bomb-sniffing dogs.

The new members of the expanded ordnance and explosives detection group of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region are to be deployed in areas where there is presence of the Dawlah Islamiya and the Abu Sayyaf.

Son of ranking MNLF official shot dead in Maguindanao

DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao - A gunman shot dead a son of a ranking leader of the Moro National Liberation Front in an attack at a busy thoroughfare in in Barangay Broce here Tuesday afternoon.

The 23-year-old Datu Qudzi Simpal died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

Simpal’s father, Datu Yahudza Qudz, is chief-of-staff of a large group of the Moro National Liberation Front in Maguindanao.

Rape suspect, 2 child molesters arrested in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY --- Police agents arrested a rape suspect and two alleged child molesters in separate operations in South Cotabato province last weekend, the provincial police said Tuesday. 

The first to fall was an 18-year-old male resident of Tantangan town in South Cotabato wanted for rape by the Regional Trial Court Branch 26 in nearby Surallah town in the province.
