GENERAL SANTOS CITY --- The police is now in custody of the three suspects in the fatal ambush late Wednesday of a businessman in a secluded area in Barangay Sinawal here.

The victim, Jeram Gonzales Alimana, 35, died on the spot from bullet wounds sustained in the attack that also left his seven-year-old son wounded.

Major Patrich Elma, chief of the Makar Police Station here, said Friday the primary suspect, Enrique Bilbao and his sons, Angelo and Ronnie, also implicated in the murder of Alimana, are now detained.

COTABATO CITY - The police seized P176, 800 worth of shabu from three peddlers entrapped Monday in Bongao, capital town of Tawi-Tawi province.

Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, said Tuesday the suspects, whose names he withheld due to on-going efforts to locate their accomplices in Bongao, are now detained.

The three men were arrested after selling P176,800 worth of shabu to agents from the Bongao municipal police and the Tawi-Tawi provincial police during a sting Monday in Barangay Sanga-Sanga in Tawi-Tawi.

DAVAO CITY – The special investigation task group (SITG) probing the death of journalist Orlando “Dondon” Dinoy in Bansalan, Davao del Sur is optimistic that it will solve the case soon.

Col. Giusseppe Geralde, the director of the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office and the SITG commander for Davao del Sur, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) in an interview Thursday that he remains confident that the case will be solved in due time.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY --- A fire of still undetermined origin razed more than a hundred houses in the seaside Barangay Calumpang here Wednesday afternoon.

Close to 200 families displaced by the conflagration are now temporarily sheltered in the Barangay Calumpang public gymnasium.

The fire that hit Purok Saeg in Barangay Calumpang started at past 1:00 p.m. Wednesday and was declared fire out at about 4:00 p.m. the same day by Chief Inspector Reginald Legaste, the chief of the Bureau of Fire Protection office in the city.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Anti-narcotics agents entrapped late Tuesday a drug den operator and six cohorts, long wanted for distribution of shabu in Barangay Mabuhay here and nearby areas.

Naravy Duquiatan, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement-12, said Wednesday the seven suspects are now detained, to be prosecuted for violation of the Compherensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
