COTABATO CITY --- A villager was wounded when gunmen attacked an outpost of volunteer barangay watchmen in Datu Piang town in Maguindanao on Friday night.

The incident was preceded by last week’s bombing of a building near the house of Datu Piang Mayor Victor Samama using two 40 millimeter grenade projectiles fired from a distance.

The volunteer barangay security team traded shots with the gunmen who fired at them assault rifles.

A resident named Anwar Guimaludin was wounded in the ensuing crossfire, now confined in a hospital.

Patay din ang isa sa mga suspek na si Elves Castillo alias Boyet habang sugatan naman ang suspek ding si Renel Guyunan, 41 anyos , businessman at nakatira sa barangay San Miguel Norala, South Cotabato.

SUGATAN ANG isang barangay kapitan ng Cotabato City makaraang siya ay pagbabarilin habang nasa loob ng isang mosque sa Barangay Rosary Heights 5, Cotabato City.

Naganap ang pamamaril kay Barnagay Rosary Heights 5 chairman Amil Sula dakong alas 7 ng gabi.

Sugatan din ang katabi nitong nagdarasal na nakilalang si dating Barangay Kagawad Abner Ampuan, 39 at taga Barangay RH-5.

Sila at iba pa ay nasa loob ng isang masjid na nasa second street, Don E Sero, Barangay RH-5.

KORONADAL CITY --- The force commander of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-12, Police Colonel Jemuel Siason, received last week  a special commendation from the Regional Peace and Order Council for his law-enforcement feats.

The inter-agency, multi-sector RPOC-12 is chaired by Sultan Kudarat Gov. Suharto Mangudadatu.

The Siason-led RMFB-12 had apprehended in recent weeks a number of persons wanted for high-profile crimes, including large-scale trafficking of narcotics and acts of terror.

MLANG, North Cotabato --- Investigators have identified the suspects in the December 10 murder, using a long kitchen knife and a baseball bat, of two children of a couple-teachers here.

Local executives and senior police officials in the province told reporters Friday that there is now closure to the murder here last week of Crizzle Gwynn Maguad, 18 and his brother, the 16-year-old Crizzule Luois.

MATALAM, North Cotabato --- Three were hurt, one of them a 10-year-old child, in a grenade explosion that ripped through Barangay Kilada here late Wednesday.

The victims, Elizabeth and Florencio, both surnamed Wahing, and the minor, who is their relative, sustained shrapnel wounds in different parts of their bodies.

They were together near a store along a national highway in Barangay Kilada here when someone reportedly hurled at them a grenade and hurriedly escaped.

M’LANG, North Cotabato – Authorities formed Monday a special investigation task group (SITG) to look deeper into the killing of the two young siblings in Barangay Bagontapay here on Dec. 10.

In an interview, Lt. Realan Manon, town police chief, said the SITG is composed of investigators from the police provincial office, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – North Cotabato, the Scene of the Crime Operatives, and the local police.

Lt. Mary Grace Clua, the head of the CIDG-North Cotabato, will lead the special body.

KORONADAL CITY - Authorities seized more than P1 million worth of shabu in separate entrapment operations in central Mindanao’s South Cotabato and Maguindanao provinces Friday.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 first confiscated P374,000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from Prince Ralph Alib, 42, during a clandestine tradeoff in Barangay Lagao, General Santos City.

Ayon sa report ng Maguindanao PNP sa pangunguna ni Provincial Director Colonel Jibin Bongcayao, naging matagumpay ang operasyon sa pinagsanib na pwersa ng PDEG SOU BAR, RSOG PDEU BAR, at Sultan Kudarat PNP.

Kagawad ng Barangay Mahongkog, Magpet, North Cotabato kritikal matapos pinagbabaril mag-aalas 8:30 ng umaga kanina.

Kinilala ang sugatang biktima na si Kgwd. Robillar Jabao.

Sugatan din ang suspek na bumaril sa kagawad na wala pang pagkakakilanlan.

Batay sa impromasyong nakuha ng Radyo BIDA, sakay ng motorsiklo si Kagawad Jabao sakay ang kanyang dalawang anak na makikita sa larawan papunta sana sa barangay hall para magparegister sa Philsys ng PSA nang binaril ito ng suspek.

Patuloy pa ngayon ang imbestigasyon ng PNP hinggil sa nangyaring krimen.
