Candidates identified with MNLF win aspired posts 

COTABATO CITY - Some 300 aspirants in the Bangsamoro region for barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan posts identified with the Moro National Liberation Front got elected on Monday, for peace advocates beneficial to the southern peace process.

Local government officials in the autonomous region are expecting the proclamation within the next 36 hours of no fewer than 200 more winning candidates who are either children or relatives of MNLF leaders in the island provinces of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

Defense chief witnesses dispersal of aid to ex-Moro rebels

COTABATO CITY -- Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro on Wednesday witnessed the turnover of livelihood assistance to former Moro violent extremists at the Maguindanao del Sur provincial capitol in Buluan town.

At least 50 former members of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) and Dawlah Islamiyah terrorist group members were presented to Sec. Teodoro by Maguindanao Gov. Bai Mariam Mangudadatu.

27 high powered loose firearms, isinuko sa militar

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao del Norte – Nasa dalawampu’t pitong mga matataas na kalibre ng baril ang isinuko sa 1st Mechanized Infantry (Maaasahan) Brigade.

Ang turn-over ceremony ay isinagawa sa Municipal Hall sa bayan ng Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat nitong ika-5 ng Oktubre 2023.

Ayon kay Brigadier General Andre B Santos, Commander ng 1Mech Bde, dalawampu't pitong mga punong barangay sa nasabing lugar ang nag-turn over ng iba't-ibang uri ng mga baril at bala.

Cotabato City gov't, Relief International support women in peacebuilding

COTABATO CITY – In support of the efforts of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to sustain the peace in the region, the Cotabato City government and Relief International agreed to cooperate in building the capacities and mobilizing community women as peacebuilders.

Sectors urge Malacañang, BARMM to protect Liguasan Delta’s ecosystem

COTABATO CITY - Stakeholders want the Bangsamoro government and Malacañang to embark on immediate interventions to save the iconic Liguasan Delta from continuing siltation and abuse by communities relying on endemic fish species for food and commercial fishing.

The Liguasan Delta is said to have vast deposits of natural gas that, according to experts in the central office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and foreign geologists, can be utilized for large-scale power generation and other industrial uses.

6th ID’s unique peace monument unveiled

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao del Norte - Officials unveiled here Thursday a peculiar peace monument, one fashioned from parts of 3,000 assault rifles and rocket launchers surrendered by enemies of state in recent months.

The monument is a large replica of the iconic 5.56 millimeter M16 assault rifle constructed by soldiers beside the gate to the headquarters of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division here.

13 BIFF sumuko sa Army, tumanggap ng ayuda mula MSSD

TUMANGGAP ng cash assistance at iba pang tulong mula sa LGU, MSSD at MPOS ang mga BIFF members na sumuko sa headquarters ng 1st Brigade Combat Team ng Philippine Army sa Barangay Pigcalagan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

Dala ng mga BIFF members ang kanilang mga matataas na uri ng armas tulad ng sniper rifle, 50 caliber barret, mga bala, grenade launcher at iba pa.

Ang mga ito ay nagmula pa mga bayan ng Rajah Buayan, Datu Unsay, Datu Hoffer, Datu Abdullah Sangki at SPMS Box (Shariff Aguak, Pagatin-Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Mamasapano, and Shariff Saydona Mustapha).
