Public school teacher, 4 others nab in Tacurong anti-illegal drug drive

TACURONG CITY– A lady public school teacher was arrested for possession of illegal drugs during police simultaneous anti-illegal drug operations Tuesday, police said.Supt.Ranie Hachuela, Tacurong City police chief, said Noria Pudin, teacher of Tacurong City National High School was among the five persons arrested during the early morning raid.Also arrested were Benjie Ganding Gayan, Aliman Midtonong Salat, Nasser Midtonong and Hasser Musalim, all residents of Barangay New Isabela.Hacheula said the raid was conducted wqith a search warrant issued by Tacurong Regional Trial Corut Judge Melani

Fire hits Isabela Ctiy, 400 homes turn to ashes

ISABELA CITY -- A fire of still unknown origin broke out Saturday morning in a residential areas here damaging at least 400 homes, officials said.Senior Supt. Oscar Nantes, Basilan police provincial director, said the fire first broke out in a houseat about 11:15 a.m. and quickly spread to nearby houses made of light and semi-concrete materials.Fire fighters declared fire out at past 1 p.m.No casualty was reported. Polomolok cops hunt down 4 men in pawnshop heist

POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato - Police authorities here have launched a province-wide manhunt against four men who robbed a pawnshop inside a supposedly well-secured Gaisano Grand Mall Wednesday morning.Supt. Midsayap's garbage gatherers haul IED

COTABATO CITY-- garbage
collectors in Midsayap, North Cotabato on Sunday night had the greatest
haul in life that could have cost their lives - an improvised bomb
among a pile of garbage.

Supt. Tom Tuzon, Midsayap town police chief, said one of the garbage collectors on a
night shift alerted the police about his discovery, a powerful improvised
explosive device.

He said the
man, who asked not to be named, found the IED fashioned from 81 mm mortar in
the file of garbage in Barangay Malamote, Midsayap, North Cotabato at 9 p.m.
