MILF vs. MILF in North Cotabato leaves 1 dead

North Cotabato – One guerilla was killed when warring Moro Islamic Liberation Front
(MILF) rebels clashed in a remote village of Pikit, North Cotabato Monday,
officials said today.

Colonel Audie Edralin, 7th Infantry Battalion commander, said two
warring groups all belonging to the MILF clashed starting at 8 a.m. that left
Maglalang Latip dead.


NorCot, TUCP award covered courts to 3 villages

– Three covered court projects, two of which were initiated by the Trade Union
Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) and one funded by the Provincial Government
of Cotabato were handed over to village officials of Barangays Magatos and
Pisan in Kabacan and Barangay Sikitan in Kidapawan City respectively, officials
announced Monday.

Governor Emmylou Mendoza led the turnover of the projects in Barangay Magatos
and Pisan in a simple but well-attended ceremony with the local officials and
their constituents.


11,250 youth avail ARMM SK list up

Election officials in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) today
said the 10-day Sangguniang Kabataan registration was a success although it did
not reach its target.

Sumalipao, ARMM election officer, said 11,250 youth aged 15-17, in the
provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi have
availed of the list up from Sept. 20 to Sept. 29.

BIFF guerillas harass North Cotabato towns

CITY (Sept. 24) – Armed men suspected to be members of the renegade Bangsamoro
Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) harassed villages in the adjoining towns of Matalam
and Kabacan in North Cotabato Tuesday night, authorities said.

(UPDATE) KIDAPAWAN CITY (Sept. 23) -- Unidentified gunmen shot dead Tuesday afternoon a tricycle driver who was trying to make both ends meet by hauling passengers here.Police identified the victim as Boyet Palaca of legal age and a
resident of Barangay Mateo, Kidapawan City. The victim was on board his motorcycle when the
suspects riding on a motorcycle shot him with a hand gun at 3:30 p.m.Palaca sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts
