South Cotabato for toxic-free mining

KORONADAL CITY (Sept. 11/NDBC) -- The South Cotabato provincial government, led by Governor Daisy Avance-Fuentes, formally established a partnership with leading environmental justice group, BAN Toxics (BT) to eliminate the use of mercury in artisanal and small-scale mining (ASGM) operations in the province.

Kidapawan inmates now registered voters

KIDAPAWAN CITY
(Sept. 11/NDBC) -- About 100 inmates of the Bureau of Jail Management and
Penology (BJMP) Provincial jail have registered with the Commission on
Elections (Comelec) during its satellite registration Friday.

Diosdado
Javier, Kidapawan City Comelec supervisor, said the activity was conducted per
directive from Comelec Manila.

Javier said the
satellite registration was part of the poll body’s community engagement and campaign
to increase the number of registrants, particularly in the city.

Kidapawan call 911 is 1 year old

KIDAPAWAN CITY (Sept. 11/NDBC) – At least 2,477 emergency situations were effectively acted upon by the Call 911 Emergency, a disaster and rescue group of the Kidapawan City Government, officials said. Today, 911 Emergency, is celebrating its first year anniversary. Mayor Joseph Evangelista said the emergency unit has saved several lives by responding quickly and rushing victims to life saving institutions. Noel Dizon, a hotel owner and Jenn Policarpio, Barangay Ilomavis village chair, were among the beneficiaries of emergency responses by 911.

have asked the Army to put up a detachment here after gunmen traded bullets
Sunday.

resolution asking the Army 7th Infantry Battalion to deploy soldiers
after Moro rebels strafed civilian communities for still unknown reason.

Robbers strike again in Kidapawan

KIDAPAWAN CITY (Sept. 10/NDBC) -- Police authorities here are yet to address the rampant robbery and thief cases in the city.Three minors were caught in act of robbing a stall inside the Kidapawan City mega market at 7 p.m.Tuesday.The minors, aged 11 and 12,who were not identified in the report were turned over by the local police to the city social welfare office.

CSC-ARMM starts anniversary celeb with Moro games

COTABATO CITY
(Sept. 9/NDBC) – The traditional Moro games took center stage Monday in the
Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) regional center as the regional
government joined the country in the celebration of the 114th Civil
Service Commission (CSC) anniversary.

The five-day
activities commenced with a parade within the compound followed by several
sports activities, spearheaded by CSC-ARMM.

Theme for this
year’s celebration was Tapat na serbisyo, alay ko dahil lingkod bayan ako.”

Kidapawan robbers strike anew, take P30,000 cash

residents despite local government and police efforts to curb the rash of crimes against property.

Robbers struck
anew separately here in the past 48 hours, carting away more than P30,000 cash
and P15,000 worth of assorted jewelry.

Suminguit, 47, of Anggie Subdivision, Kidapawan City, told police investigators
his variety store along Villamarzo street was ransacked by still unidentified men.
