2 armed men hurt in Midsayap shooting

MIDSAYAP,
North Cotabato – Two armed civilians were shot and wounded by still unidentified
gunmen in a remote village of here Monday night, police said.

Supt. Reynante
delos Santos, Midsayap police chief, said the shooting incident occurred in Barrio
7 at about 7:30 p.m.

He said
Suharto Endayla, 30, resident of Barangay Pigcawaran, Alamada, North Cotabato
and Penarma Kamid, 34, of Barangay Malinaw, Midsayap, also in North Cotabato
were walking when unidentified men riding tandem on motorbike opened fire on
them.

Tacurong says 'No' to defective weighing scales

TACURONG CITY -- Every quarter of each year, the
Tacurong City Treasury Office (CTO) conducts a 'surprise' inspection of weighing
scales used in market stalls in the city public market. According to City
Treasurer Jessie Batchar, the office confiscated 80 defective weighing scales
this year. He also noted that most of the defective scales were confiscated
from transient fruit vendors operating at night in the city streets. Of the 80

Bombing slightly affects Mlang business, but recovering

MLANG, North
Cotabato – Business activities here have been affected by the Nov. 23 bombing
that left three dead and wounded 25 others, officials said.

Bong Pinol,
Mlang town administrator, said some of the business owners are closing early
while other small traders have moved to other places.

Mom of Kabacan blast fatality wants to see arrested suspect

KIDAPAWAN CITY
– The family of Monique Mantawil today welcomed the arrest of one of the
suspects in the Kabacan bombing that left her dead and 16 others wounded.

Florence
Mantawil, Monique’s mother, told DXND Rado Bida Kidapawan, that the news about
the arrest of Badrudin Abid of Purok Kristlam, Barangay Poblacion, Kabacan,
came as a relief but still the pain remains.

If given the
chance, Florence said she would talk to Abid and asked him some questions.

Digos suspected drug pushers nabbed in Kidapawan

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Two suspected illegal drug pushers from Digos City were arrested by police authorities at a highway checkpoint here.Supt. Franklin Anito, Kidapawan City police director, told DXND Radyo Bida that Antonio Manogogura, 32 and Eric Orbano, 23, both of Digos City, were arrested for refusing to obey flag down orders from law enforcers.The two who were on board a motorcycle sped away and ignored lawmen who flagged them down for inspection at a police checkpoint in Barangay Binoligan here.Anito said motorcycle cops chased the suspects until Quezon Avenue and directed to pull over.

Tulunan exec calls for peoples' vigilance after NorCot bombings

TULUNAN, North Cotabato - The local government of Tulunan has appealed to its constituents to remain vigilant and watchful in the face of the series of bombing in North Cotabato, the latest of which was in adjacent town of Mlang on Sunday and the attempted robbery of a gas station in the same town Tuesday. Town Mayor Lani Candolada admitted the police and its force multipliers could not secure every nook and corner of Tulunan which had been subjected to harassment and bombings in the past.
