Maguindanao veggie vendor shot, hurt in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY - Police here believed the shooting of a vegetable vendor along Quezon Avenue Wednesday dawn was a case of mistaken identity. Fire hits NorCot town after deadly blast

KABACAN, North
Cotabato – Fire investigators are looking at an electric fan left unattended
and illegal electrical connections as the culprit in Monday’s fire that gutted
a residential house here.

Senior Inspector Ibrahim Guiamelon, chief of Kabacan Bureau of Fire Protection
(BFP), said the house of Amir Mulod along Mapanao Extension, Barangay Poblacion
was turned into ashes when the fire broke out at 2:45 p.m.

Militiaman shot, wounded in Pikit

PIKIT, North Cotabato – Police
and miltiary authorities are hunting down two men riding tandem on a motorbike
who shot and seriously wounded a militiamen here on Saturday. Insp. Sindatun Karim,
Pikit police chief, said Ariel Tano Wacan, 25, a member of 31st company ng 38th
Infantry Battalion, was driving his motorcycle when two men were seen tailing
him.

Upon reaching Barangay Bualan,
the suspects shot Wacan on his head. The
suspect fled after the incident.

Makilala LGU to give away construction materials for quake victims

MAKILALA, North Cotabato - The local government of Makilala will distributed construction materials for residents whose houses were either totally damaged or partially destroyed by the 5.2 earthquake that hit the province on September 20, officials said.Mayor Rudy Caoagdan said the LGU has alloted more than P1 million for the procurement of construction materials to be distributed to residents in Makilala's villages affected by the tremor.

Gunmen shot dead 19-year-old man in Midsayap

North Cotabato – Unidentified armed men shot dead a 19-year-old man along a
busy street here on Wednesday night in what police believed was illegal drug
related.

He identified
the victim as Nano Anas, sidewalk peddler of ready to wear clothes, also known

2 families relocated as landslide hit village near Mt. Apo

KIDAPAWAN
CITY – A landslide at the slope of the country’s highest peak on Saturday forced
the Kidapawan City disaster team to relocate two families.

Psalmer
Bernalte, Kidapawan City disaster risk reduction and management council
officer, said the landslide occurred in Barangay Ilomavis, where a road
concreting project was on-going.

He
said relocated families’ houses were few meters away from the landslide site
and relocating them would save their lives.

It was a preemptive move, he said.
