Gunmen shot dead North Cotabato teacher, pupils hurt

KIDAPAWAN CITY
– Unidentified gunmen shot dead a public school teacher while he was
having session with his pupils in a public school President Roxas, North
Cotabato Tuesday.

Police Senior
Inspector Romy Castanares, President Roxas police chief, identified the slain as
Marato Dilangalen Ampatuan, 49, teacher of Datu Sundungan Elementary School in
President Roxas town and resident of Barangay Bulit, Kabacan, North Cotabato.

Improvised bombs topple NGCP tower 26 in Pikit

PIKIT, North Cotabato - Unidentified men set off three powerful improvised bombs in one of the steel transmission towers of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) here Tuesday night, authorities said.The blast toppled the tower, sending part of North Cotabato, Maguindanao and Cotabato City without electricity for more than two hours.Capt. Joanne Petinglay, speaking for the 6th Infantry Division, said the toppled tower was in Barangay Gilakit, Pikit and was bombed at about 9 p.m.It cut off power transmission from Bukidnon to Simuay in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.

Robbers of Palawan pawnshop in SoCot town charged

STO NINO,
South Cotabato – Police here have filed charges of robbery with homicide
Tuesday against three men believed to have carried out the daring robbery at Palawan
Pawnshop here.

Chief
Inspector Joel Fuerte, Sto. Nino police chief, refused to name the three
suspects. He told Happy FM Koronadal that with the solid and vital evidences against them, the police had a strong
case.

The three men remained at large and are the subject of intensive police manhunt, he said.

KORONADAL CITY - A police officer survived an assassin's bullet Monday night while driving his motorbike on his way home in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, police said.Supt. Joefel Siason, Isulan police chief, identified the victim as a certainPO3 Cabanillas, a police intelligence officer assigned with theSultan Kudarat police provincial office.
