KORONADAL CITY - A public school teacher and her husband were charred to death in a fire that hit the family home in Barangay Namnama here Saturday.Marlon Aquino, the victims' nephew, identified the couple as Concepcion, 59 and Romeo Mateo, 57, both of Barangay Namnama.Aquino told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida that the fire was already huge and it was impossible for anybody to save the couple. The fire started at about 10 p.m.Even neighbors who responded to the fire were helpless, Aquino said.The one-story concrete house had all its windows covered by iron grill.

KABACAN, North
Cotabato -– Police authorities in North Cotabato, in partnership with
the 602nd Infantry Brigade, have launched manhunt against gunmen who
killed a village councilman, a Church-worker and injured another village
official Wednesday, officials said today.

In Pikit town,
unidentified gunman shot dead a village councilman of Maguindanao in front of a
gas station here, according to Chief Inspector Donald Cabigas, town police
chief.

ALEOSAN, North Cotabato– Another steel tower of
the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) was bombed by still
unidentified men in Aleosan, North Cotabato, the power firm said.

It was the second attempt to topple NGCP’s steel
tower in North Cotabato this year.

Melfrance Bambi Capulong, speaking for the NGCP in
