MARAWI CITY -- Two soldiers were killed while 11 others were injured when a bomb from an aircraft missed its target and exploded near the position of government troops here around noontimeon Wednesday. Investigation is being conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding an incident where an ordnance missed its target during an airstrike conducted at about12 noonof12 July 2017, Colonel Edgard Arevalo, Armed Forces of the Philippines public affairs chief, said. Initial report from Marawi indicates that the bomb was 250 meters off target.

KORONADAL CITY – Norberto Manero Jr, the convicted priest killer, was arrested by the
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-12) for the 2010 murder and attempted murder charges.

Manero, 70,
went to the CIDG office inside Camp Fermin Lira Friday morning to follow up a
separate case, according to Supt. Elmer Guevarra, CIDG-12 chief.

While inside
the CIDG office, Guevarra said, agents presented to Manero two warrants of
arrest.

MANILA -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced it has foiled a possible bombing attack by Maute Group terrorists in Cagayan De Oro City with the arrest of two perpetrators and recovery of several explosive-making materials Wednesday.AFP spokesperson Brig. Restituto Padilla said that among those arrested was Monaliza Solaiman Romato, also known as Monay , niece and reportedly the replacement of Maute matriarch and finance head Ominta Farhana Romato Maute who was arrested last month.Romato was arrested with Tahera Taher during the 4:30 a.m.
