CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao - The military’s campaign against loose firearms has earned the
support of local officials, even local residents of Maguindanao, an Army
official said.

Major Gen.
Arnel dela Vega, commander of the 6th Infantry Division and Task
Force Central, said the intensified campaign continues and being intensified
with the local residents expressing support on it, publicly and voluntarily.

KIDAPAWAN CITY -– A farmer wanted for several frustrated homicide cases was apprehended by authorities in Magpet in North Cotabato province.

COTABATO CITY –- Police here killed a drug suspect who tried to lob a hand grenade during
a drug buy bust operation Friday night here.

Chief Inspector
Aldrin Gonzales, speaking for police in Region 12, said Mohammad Dipatuan Awal
tried to throw a hand grenade when police enforcers were to arrest him following
a drug buy bust operation.

Gonzales said
Awal pulled a fragmentation grenade after sensing he was dealing with a poseur buyer
during the 11:30 p.m. operation in Barangay Bagua 2, Cotabato City.

COTABATO CITY – A police officer assigned in Maguindanao and a woman were arrested
by Cotabato City police personnel while in a pot session inside a lodging house
here Thursday.

Mamasalanao Gumnay, 33, a police officer assigned in Municipal police station
in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao and a woman identified only as Nadja of Barangay Rosary
Heights 6, Cotabato City were arrested inside Carta de Amor Inn along Yapsea
Street, Barangay Rosary Heights 10 at 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

KORONADAL CITY – A police officer in Sarangani province was in critical condition
after he was shot while responding to an alleged shooting incident in Malungon
town Friday morning.

Chief Inspector
Aldrin Gonzales, speaking for police in Region 12, said Police Officer 1 Jared
Bogador, intelligence operative of Malungon PNP, was shot by a certain Pedro
Donasco at about 9:30 a.m.

Gonzales said
Bogador was responding to a reported shooting incident in Barangay Datal Tampal
when the suspect opened fire on him.

COTABATO CITY – Anti-narcotics agents,
backed by police and soldiers, arrested Wednesday night a Maguindanao village
chairman and his son for possession of unlicensed guns and illegal drugs.

Another man who was also armed and present when
agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim
