New police PD vows to intensify anti-drug, anti-loose firearms drive

SHARIFF AGUAK, Maguindanao – A new police
director assigned in Maguindanao today vowed to push for the anti-drug and
anti-loose firearms campaign of the government.

Senior supt. Edwin Buenaventura Wagan, acting
Maguindanao provincial director, believed the police units in the province will
be able to convince illegal gun owners to hand over the rifles to authorities
before a police law enforcement operation is carried out.

Senior Region 12 police officers all pass methamphetamine testing

GENERAL SANTOS CITY --- None of the officers in the Police Regional Office-12 tested positive to narcotics during a drug testing Wednesday.Chief Inspector Aldrin Gonzalez, spokesman of PRO-12, said Thursday the officers who complied with the procedure were led by their regional director, Chief Superintendent Marcelo Morales. No one from us tested positive to use of methamphetamine hydrochloride, Gonzalez said.Methamphetamine hydrochloride is most known as shabu, also touted as poor man’s cocaine.

Drug high value target slain in North Cotabato anti-drug ops

MATALAM, North Cotabato – A man wanted
for big time illegal drug peddling in North Cotabato was killed during
anti-drug operation in Barangay Poblacion here Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Chief Inspector Aldrin Gonzales, Central Mindanao
police spokesperson, said Robin Mamak Galman, 34, of Barangay Poblacion opened
fire on lawmen out to serve search warrant at about 5 p.m.
This prompted the police, backed by the military, to
return fire, hitting Galman in various parts of his body.

Maguindanao mayors turn in loose guns to Army

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – A total of 113 loose firearms was surrendered to the military in a turnover ceremony on March 26 and 27, 2018.The surrendered firearms were owned by the local residents of the municipalities of Mamasapano, Pagalungan, Datu Montawal, and Shariff Aguak all of Maguindanao town.Forty-five of these firearms were turned over through Pagalungan Mayor Salik Mamasabulod and another 30 by Datu Montawal Mayor Vicman Montawal. The firearms were formally received by 602ndBrigade Commander Col. Alfredo V. Rosario Jr.

COTABATO CITY – A village councilman was killed when he resisted arrest during the implementation of search warrant
Saturday morning in Barangay Kalangnan Mother here.

Inspector Tirso Pascual, chief of Police Station 2, identified the slain
village councilman as Sadat Ayunan of Barangay Kalanganan Mother.

Ayunan
resisted and pulled a hand grenade, our personnel acted in self-defense, Pascual
