3 peddlers in Maguindanao yield P3.4M worth of shabu 

COTABATO CITY --- Three men got clamped down for selling P3.4 million worth of shabu to plainclothes agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Wednesday.

Candao Mamalacat and the siblings Rahim and Baluno Abusama were immediately arrested after receiving payment for their illegal merchandise during a sting at past 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Buayan in Datu Piang town in Maguindanao.

Juvenal Azurin, PDEA’s director for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said the three drug dealers were entrapped with the help of their relatives.

Plumber electrocuted, companions hurt 

NORTH COTABATO --- A plumber died while two others suffered burns when they accidentally touched a power relay cable while fixing an overhead water supply facility in Pigcawayan town Thursday.

The 45-year-old Jesus Tagaan died on the spot from electrocution.

His companions, the siblings Meynard, 30, and the 51-year-old Rene Calimos, were immediately rushed to a hospital by responding rescuers from the Pigcawayan local government unit.

P25M BARMM funded 2-storey town hall to rise in Datu Blah Sinsuat

COTABATO CITY – Minister for Interior and Local Government Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo personally handed over to Datu Blah Sinsuat (DBS) Municipal Mayor Datu Marshall Sinsuat on Wednesday, April 28, the first tranche of check for the construction of the town’s 2-storey government center.

The check was worth 12.5 million pesos representing 50% of project’s total budget amounting to Php25-million.

The remaining 50% budget will be given upon the 80% physical completion of the project.

TESDA’s Project TALA lights up farthest sitio in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY - The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has released  additional 150 solar panels to the additional beneficiaries of Project TALA (TESDA Alay ay Liwanag at Asenso) to complete the 250 solar panels that were promised by TESDA nine months ago.

TESDA 12 Regional Director Rafael Y. Abrogar II together with other agencies led the dispersal of the solar panels to the beneficiaries from Sitio Blit and Sitio Limdel, Barangay Ned, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.

Grenades, guns found in hideout of wanted men in Maguindanao

MAGUINDANAO --- Police agents found explosives and firearms in the hideout of two men wanted for murder during an operation in Pandag town Tuesday.

Personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region were to serve Joross Guimad and Joemar Sagandingan warrants for their arrest but they have escaped even before the raiding team could surround their lair in Barangay Kabuling, Pandag.

Major Esmael Madin, CIDG’s provincial officer for Maguindanao, said Guiamad and Sagandingan are facing a murder case in a local court.

Bumper watermelon, cantaloupe harvests in Central Mindanao 

KORONADAL CITY --- Watermelons and cantaloupes are being  sold cheaply now along highways crisscrossing South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat provinces.

Due to the low prices of palay and corn grains, many farmers in towns in the two provinces have shifted to propagation of watermelon and cantaloupe, resulting in overproduction.

Cantaloupe is also known as rockmelon.

The extensive growing by farmers in both provinces have resulted in big watermelon and cantaloupe harvest surplus, now sold at only P20 a kilo in roadside stalls.

COTABATO CITY - The Cotabato Light and Power Company (Cotabato Light) today announces a 4-hour power interruption along portions of Rosales Street and Barangay Biniruan on Monday, April 26.

This is to facilitate restructuring of primary line in the area.

The Cotabato Light also annoounces emergency power interruption from 8 a.m. to 12 noon along portions of Nayon Shariff. 

Cotabato light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this unscheduled power outage but it will exert all efforts to restore power the soonest possible time.
