ARMM’s DOH, NNC tap agencies to promote proper nutrition

COTABATO CITY– To address malnutrition problems in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), the region’s Department of Health (DOH-ARMM) and the National Nutrition Council (NNC-ARMM) tapped members of the Regional Nutrition Committee to promote programs on proper nutrition.In a forum on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Office of the Bangsamoro People in the regional seat of government, Dayang Jumaide, DOH-ARMM assistant secretary, encouraged members of the Regional Nutrition Committee to emulate programs such as ‘Pinggang Pinoy’ and ‘10 Kumainments’ in their respective offices.

Kidapawan exec orders pull out of all expired food products, sans expiry dates

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Mayor Joseph Evangelista has ordered the withdrawal from stores and grocery centers allproducts manufactured by Davao City-based Wendy’s Candy Factory following reports of food poisoning of at least 20 pupils in a public school here last week.The pupils suffered nausea and vomitingafter allegedly ingesting their products sold by ambulant vendors. Evangelista, chair of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDDRMC), said his mandate will ensure the general welfare of his constituents, particularly the consuming public.

Educ official bans ambulant vendors outside school

COTABATO CITY -- Education officials in the city have ordered
a ban on sidewalk vendors outside school grounds even as it startedinspection on all school canteen to ensure food sold to pupils are safe.

The action came after alleged food poisoning
among pupils in Caraga region, Kidapawan City and Aleosan were reported last
week.

More than 2,000 pupils have been hospitalized in

Contaminants found in fake rice sample

Kidapawan village health stations to get P1.5 fund assistance

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Seven villages here will soon receive P1.5 million fund assistance for village health stations.Mayor Joseph Evangelista said the assistance aims to make barangay health stations improve its services and get accreditation by PhilHealth.Once the village health station is PhilHealth accredited, it can facilitate delivery or serve as birthing station. The local government is awaiting the additional P10 million for the completion of Kidapawan City health complex and Maternal and Child Care Center.

N. Cotabato dengue cases on the rise

KIDAPAWAN CITY -The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) in North Cotabato has recorded from first until second quarter of this year a 50 percent increase of dengue cases as compared to last year of the same period. IPHO-Cotabato chief Dr. Eva Rabaya said that based on their monitoring, the cases numbered to 1,000, some 50 percent increase as compared to last year. In 2014, it recorded 595 cases. Of the 17 towns and a city in North Cotabato, Midsayap has the most number of dengue cases second is Kidapawan City and third, Tulunan.
