Cakes, porridge down 9 in Banga, South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY – Nine persons belonging to one family were hospitalized Monday
morning hours after eating cake and porridge in Banga, South Cotabato, health officials
and survivors said.

The victims,
now confined at the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital here, were residents of
Barangay San Vicente, Banga, South Cotabato, about 20 kilometers south of here.

Seven of the
victims were children aged one 1 to 12 years old, according to Valerie Salazar,
one of the victims. Two others were adults.


IPs in Ampatuan get medical services

COTABATO CITY – More than 1,000 Indigenous Peoples
in a remote village in Barangay Kauran, Ampatuan, Maguindanao have availed of
medical dental services from the provincial government of Maguindanao, officials
said today.
Lynette Estandarte, Maguindanao health focal person,
led the medical outreach program that benefited Teduday IP communities in the
hinterlands of Ampatuan town.
The beneficiaries were from Sitio Rizal who availed of
free consultation, dental services and received vitamins and other services


ARMM water system project in Datu Odin Sinsuat launched

MAGUINDANAO-- Officials on Thursday launched a P9 million worth water system project for thousands of villagers in the town proper of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.The project, funded out of the 2015 infrastructure budget of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), was meant to ensure adequate daily supply of clean water, from an underground source, for villagers residing at the center of Datu Odin Sinsuat in southeast of the province.The ARMM has P223 million worth of current infrastructure projects in Datu Odin Sinsuat being implemented jointly by the regional public works depart
