COTABATO CITY --In preparation to the ASEAN integration, the Department of Science and Technology in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DOST-ARMM) will conduct a Halal Congress in August this year to help propel the region’s bid to get a slice of the multi-billion global halal market. Myra Mangkabung, DOST-ARMM regional secretary, said the highlight of the congress will be the launching of the ARMM Halal Ecosystem (AHE), an inter-agency body that will oversee and coordinate the region’s efforts to become the hub of the halal industry in the country.

for a three-day international conference and expo aimed to synergized efforts
in Halal development.

The Philippine
Halal Assembly and Expo which kicked off on June 3 and ends on Friday is
attended by international halal advocates, stakeholders and exhibitors.

?COTABATO CITY - Health authorities in Region 12 sought the help of media practitioners in informing the public about awareness onHuman immunodeficiency virus and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV-AIDS).Health Assistant Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial said proper information about the disease will surely help the public about it and help in preventing the spread of the virus.

KIDAPAWAN CITY -The documentation of case studies on the experiences, lessons, and good practices on disaster risk reduction and mitigation, especially in NorthCotabato, would begin soon. This as the signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) between two global organizations working in areas vulnerable to disasters took place in Makati City on May 27. Signatories to the MoA were Christopher John Lane, director for global operations of the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA), and Javad Amoozegar, country director of the Action Against Hunger (ACF) International.

COTABATO CITY- Residents in the five component provinces of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) can now easily avail of the free services provided by the different line agencies and offices of the region with the conduct of the ARMM People’s Day at the provincial level.Various services and forms of assistance from the ARMM government are offered for free to the public during the People’s Day.

COTABATO CITY-The Department of Science and Technology of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DOST-ARMM) is addressing the need for potable water in remote communities through ceramic water filter system that can remove contaminants in drinking water.” Myra Mangkabung, DOST-ARMM secretary, said the ceramic-based water filter can purify tap water, deep well water, and even raw water from ponds and spring. Through the filters, safe, potable drinking water is readily available and accessible even in remote areas,” Sec. Mangkabung said.

KIDAPAWAN CITY -An international humanitarian organization has provided potable water by erecting at least five water systems to at least two towns in Central Mindanao. Also, Javad Amoozegar, country director of the ACF International, said they also provided 200 communal latrines in the towns of President Roxas and Arakan in North Cotabato and in Cotabato City in Maguindanao in Central Mindanao (Region 12).

City, the PhilHealth and SKEI entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for the
Integration of Social Health Insurance (SHI) modules into the Institute's
Midwifery and Nursing subjects - a first in the country.

ROXAS, North Cotabato-Two teenagers from a remote village here were diagnosed to have leprosy, an infectious disease of the skin and nerves which, if untreated, can lead to disability and blindness. The problem, however, is that the patients’ mother refused to continue the treatment being administered to them, President Roxas municipal health officer Dr. Dominic Laos said. Laos said the patients, whose identities are kept hidden from public, were diagnosed in July last year to have carried the disease after series of laboratory tests.
