18 hurt by firecrackers in Region-12

KORONADAL CITY– Eighteen personswere injured by
firecrackers during the Christmas to New Year revelry last year, nine were from South Cotabato, the Department
of Health (DOH-12) today said.

Jenny Ventura, focal person of the DOH-12 firecracker injure
monitoring office, said South Cotabato has the highest number of revelers
injured during the monitoring period from December 21.

Less budget for anti-drug drive, more for basic health services

South Cotabato health officials seek public support vs. dengue

KORONADAL CITY -- Health officials in South Cotabato have raised an alert level on dengue cases as the number hits more than 5,000 this year, more than 100 percent higher as compared from January to November last year. Dr. Rogelio Aturdido, South Cotabato provincial health chief, told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida that24 patients have died as of Dec. 12 due to dengue, a preventable disease should everybody cooperates.
