2 positive COVID-19 patients in BARMM recovered, discharged

COTABATO CITY – Two patients who tested positive for Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Lanao del Sur have finally recovered, and were discharged.

BARMM’s Minister of Health Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan announced this during the Bangsamoro Inter-Agency Task Force’s press briefing held today, April 3, in the city.

“Meron tayong positive na balita. Ang tinutukoy ko ay as of yesterday, two patients from Amai Pakpak Medical Center ay gumaling na at discharged from the hospital,” Dipatuan said.

PUMs in Cotabato province declining - guv

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco today said from 88 yesterday, health frontliners listed only 66 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) as of April 2, 2020..

In a statement on her social media account, Catamco, citing report from Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO Cotabato) said this after 1,972 had been cleared as PUM.

Forty seven remains listed as Persons Under Investigation (PUI) with one admitted patient.

The IPHO report showed that 34 PUIs have been cleared within 15 days period.

BARMM eyes setting up COVID-19 dedicated hospitals

Cotabato City (April 1, 2020)—The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Health (MOH-BARMM) is currently working on the possibility of setting up hospitals in the Bangsamoro region solely dedicated to cater Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) patients.

“Ngayon tinitingan na natin kung paano tayo magkakaroon ng COVID-19 hospitals, alin ba sa mga hospitals natin ang pwedeng i-convert,” MOH Minister Dr. Saffrulah M. Dipatuan said Tuesday.

“Kapag na-identify sila as COVID-19 hospital, hindi na sila tatanggap ng ibang pasyente na hindi COVID-19 case,” Dipatuan added.

Plan to use hospital as isolation facility opposed 

NORTH COTABATO --- Residents of President Roxas town picketed at the entrance to a state-run hospital to dramatize their opposition to its possible conversion into a COVID-19 isolation facility.

The plan is part of a COVID-19 containment effort of the health department and the provincial government of North Cotabato, where there is no recorded coronavirus infection case yet.

DOH confirms 4 news cases of COVID-19, Soccsksargen now has 7

KORONADAL CITY - Four more new cases of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported by the Department of Health, raising confirmed coronavirus infected patients to seven in the Soccsksargen region.

Two new patients were from Cotabato City, raising confirmed COVID-19 patients in the city to 4.

They are:

Patient 145 (PH145), a 32-year old male who travelled to Malaysia and back to Cotabato City but has been discharged from the hospital.

South Cotabato confirms 1st COVID-19 case

KORONADAL CITY - A person under investigation (PUI) who is now in home quarantine in T’boli, South Cotabato was tested positive of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the first case of the deadly disease in the province.

This was confirmed Tuesday by Dr. Rogelio Aturdido Jr., chief of South Cotabato Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO). The patient who arrived in the province from Manila last March 16 was admitted in a level 2 hospital on March 18 after manifesting signs and symptoms for COVID 19 like cough, sore throat, and colds.

Region-12 now has 7th PUI death but negative of COVID-19

KIDAPAWAN CITY - A 62-year-old woman categorized by the Department of Health (DOH) as Person Under Investigation for coronavirus has passed away in Makilala, North Cotabato, the DOH-12 said Sunday. But test showed she was negative of COVID-19.

Until her death, the woman has been in a state of coma after she suffered a stroke.  She died on March 26, according to the Makilala Inter-Agency Task Force for COVID-19.

The woman has no history of travel to COVID positive areas in the country. She died of hypertension, status post cerebrovascular accident.

Tacurong health frontliner attacked, health officials condemn attackers, demand justice

TACURONG CITY  – Hospital authorities here have condemned the attack perpetrated by five persons against a COVID-19 frontliner in Pres. Quirino, Sultan Kudarat on Friday afternoon.

Administrators of St. Louis Hospital based in Tacurong City have been demanding justice for one of its personnel who was ganged up and splashed with zonrox, a disinfectant, by unidentified men in front of the public market of Pres. Quirino.

In a statement, St. Louis Hospital administrators said that the hospital worker was on his way for work when violently attacked by five men.

DOH-12: Region has 4 PUI deaths

 

KORONADAL CITY  – The Department of Health in the Soccsksargen region today reported that another Person Under Investigation of possible Covid-19 infection has died, raising the death toll of PUI in Region 12 to four.

Of the four fatalities, one was tested negative of Covid-19 while laboratory tests for three other fatalities remained pending, the health regional office said.

DOH-12 Health Education and Promotion Officer Arjhon Gangoso said as of 5 p.m. of March 24, the region has 96 PUI, 23 of them admitted to various hospitals.

PUI who died in South Cotabato negative of Covid-19, health official says

KORONADAL CITY - The 51-year-old man who was categorized as Person Under Investigation (PUI) due to Covid-19 was negative of the dreaded virus, health officials here said today.

Dr. Rogelio Aturdido Jr, South Cotabato provincial health officer, said swab samples were taken from the man due to his Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) on March 16.  He died a day later. 

Aturdido said the provincial health office recieved the laboratory results Monday morning showing the man was negative of coronavirus.
