Region 12 records no new COVID-19 PUI, no deaths

COTABATO CITY - The April 18, 2020 situation report for COVID-19 in the Soccsksargen region today showed no new case of COVID-19 positive nor new deaths reported. 

It said the total of Person Under Investigation (PUI) death remained at 20 with only one fatality have positive test results.

Isabela City LGU, police cracks whip on quarantine offenders

COTABATO CITY ---The local government unit of Isabela City in Basilan and the city’s police force together cracked the whip harder this week on residents ignoring social distancing regulation as part of the LGU’s coronavirus containment efforts. 

The city police and the office of Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman are together in enforcing measures meant to protect constituents from the dreaded COVID-19 disease.

59-year-old man from GenSan recovers from COVID-19

COTABATO CITY - A 59=year-old man who had travel history to Davao City last March and tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) turned out negative on his second swab results, the Department of Health 12 said.

In its situation report dated April 17, DOH-Soccsksargen PH3669 has recovered on Friday, raising the number of recovered patients to eight as of April 18.

Experts train Basilan frontliners on COVID-19 specimen sampling

COTABATO CITY --- Teams of selected health workers from across Basilan underwent extensive orientation on coronavirus specimen collection early this week, the provincial government said in a statement Friday.

The health workers were trained by experts from the health department’s Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit in Region 9 based in Zamboanga City.

The training was held at a function facility in Isabela City in Basilan island province.

Basilan, covering 11 towns and two cities, Lamitan and Isabela, has been under health emergency for almost two months now.

DOH-12 reports recovery of 3 patients from COVID-19 infections

COTABATO CITY - The Department of Health in Region 12 today announced that three confirmed COVID-19 positive patients have recovered and now tested negative of the disease.

Of the three, two from Cotabato City and one from South Cotbato as shown in the infographics below.

3 COVID-19 PUIs die in Soccsksargen region

COTABATO CITY - The Department of Health in the Soccsksargen region on Tuesday reported that three persons under investigation of COVID-19 have died with two of them having tested negative of the virus while the results of the third fatality was still pending before the DOH.

IN a bulletin and situation report, DOH-12 said two of the fatalities were from South Cotabato and the third is from Gen. SAntos City.

All died of respiratory related diseases.

AMID COVID-19 PANDEMIC: Murad signs aid fund for CRMC medical, lab upgrading

COTABATO CITY - THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has signed into a P 14-million enabling fund transfer to upgrade the laboratory tests capability of the Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC) for suspected cases of corona virus-triggered diseases.     

Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Hadji Murad Ebrahim signed here Monday a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Dr. Helen Yambao, CRMC director, on the transfer and utilization of ₱14,135,500.00 for hospital procurement of diagnostic tests lab equipment for covid19 cases, and for staff development.

Guiani-Sayadi assure constituents of extensive relief services

COTABATO CITY --- City Mayor Cynthia Guiani Sayadi on Sunday assured of up to a fourth wave of relief missions in all of 37 barangays under her jurisdiction while under COVID-19 quarantine.

Maranaws produce anti-COVID-19 suits for local frontliners

COTABATO CITY --- The provincial government of Lanao del Sur has mobilized Maranaw sewers to produce protection suits for frontliners in its coronavirus containment campaign.

Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong said Saturday they have commissioned local dressmakers and tailors his office capacitated through vocational schooling and equipment support to manufacture protection outfits for members of inter-agency teams now in the forefront of the provincial government’s war on COVID-19.
