UNICEF pushes for continuation of routine immunization amid COVID-19

MANILA -  The UNICEF is calling for the promotion and continuation of routine immunization efforts as the Philippines’ health services face the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this year’s World Immunization Week from April 24-30, a majority of communities in the country are under enhanced community quarantine, with routine immunization services disrupted or suspended, possibly affecting at least two million children below two years old who are most vulnerable to vaccine preventable diseases.

Kidapawan pregnant nurse survives COVID-19

COTABATO CITY - A pregnant nurse from Kidapawan City who was tested positive of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is now negative of the virus, Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco said today.

Citing a Department of Health 12 situation report on COVID-19 dated April 24, Catamco said she was elated the 29-year-old nurse who travelled to Abu Dhabu to meet her husband, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), was tested negative of the disease.

“I am joyful that PH3671 has survived,” Catamco said in a statement.

Cotabato Light lends assistance to frontliners, communities

As the country faces great challenges due to the current health crisis, AboitizPower distribution unit Cotabato Light and Power Company extends a much-needed helping hand to aid its local communities.

On April 21, the Cotabato Light team donated an array of medical supplies to equip the frontliners at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC). These donations came at a crucial time as the CRMC continues to serve as one of the region’s primary care centers amidst COVID-19.

DOH-12: Suspected COVID-19 patient dies in South Cotabato

COTABATO CITY - A 62-year-old female has died of suspected COVID-19, raising the death toll of suspected cases to 21 with hone confirmed positive fatality.

In a situation report released today, April 22, DOH said the latest fatality has diabetes, pneumonia and Septicemia.  

The DOH also reported that two patients, a male and a female, both from Cotabato City who traveled to Davao City have recovered.

They were identified as PH3670, a 49-year-old female and PH3774 who is a 58-year-old male.

"Quarantine" graduate frontliners visit Gov. Catamco, get goodies

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Sinorpresa ni Gob. Nancy Catamco ang kaga-graduate lamang na mga COVID-19 Medical frontliners na dumaan ng 14 days quarantine sa USM isolation facility.

Ito ay personal na pasasalamat ng gobernador. Maliit na bagay ngunit napakalaking halaga ang pagkilala sa kanilang husay, tapang at taos-pusong paglilingkod-bayan.

Labis ang pasasalamat ng gobernador sa mga doktor at nurses. Sa kabila ng maliit nilang sahod, balik na naman sila sa trabaho nila; "duty calls," ika nga.

MP Shiek spearheads relief aid in Lanao areas

MARAWI CITY — The Office of Member of the Parliament Said Shiek spearheaded the distribution of relief assistance in two separate areas of Lanao, Balo-i town in Lanao del Norte and Marawi City in Lanao del Sur.

Some 227 families or 1,200 individuals have benefitted the relief assistance given by Shiek Sunday, April 19 at Brgy. Pacalundo in Balo-i, Lanao del Norte.

COTABATO CITY - Outpatient Department (OPD) patients are those persons who are assessed or undergoing check-ups in a health facility by a physician but is not admitted to the facility. OPD patients are advised to undergo strict home quarantine for monitoring.

Cotabato City frontline doc: No new COVID19 cases since mid-March

COTABATO CITY - There has been no new reported case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in this city since last month. Thanks to a timely lockdown on interior areas imposed by the city government, said Dr. Faisal Samanodi, one of the frontline physicians serving local hospitals.

But City Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi said she was not taking chances, as she directed village officials as well as police and military personnel to stand more vigilant 24 hours a day on transits of goods and people in-and-out of the city.

PUM drops in North Cotabato, says governor

Mabilis ang pagbaba ng PUM ngayon araw mula sa 133 kahapon 106 na lamang ito ngayon, kasabay nang pagtatapos ng 14-day quaratine ng 18 katao na “stranded on border” sa pagitan Makilala at Davao del Sur.

Inaasahan ang mabilis na pagbaba nito bukas at sa mga araw pang darating dahil magtatapos na rin ang 14-day quarantine ng mga stranded sa border.

Pawang nasa malusog na kalagayan ang mga ito at sa kanilang pag uwi kanina, ay naghayag sila ng pasasalamat kay Governor Nancy Catamco at sa pagkalinga ng Provincial Government.
