22 year old male student is BARMM's 12th COVID-19 positive

COTABATO CITY  – The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Health (MOH) has recorded a new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) positive case in the region on Friday, May 22.

According to MOH Minister Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan, the 12th confirmed Covid-19 case in the BARMM is a 22 year-old male from the municipality of Datu Saudi Ampatuan in Maguindanao province.

Dipatuan said that the patient, who is now in a stable conditon, is one of the 16 stranded students in Cebu City who availed the “Balik Probinsiya Program”.

CRMC gets accreditation as first COVID-19 testing lab within BARMM

COTABATO CITY  – The Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) here announced Wednesday, May 20, that they have been issued license to operate as the first testing laboratory for Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) territory.

This comes after the Department of Health (DOH)-Central Office accredited CRMC to perform rapid polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests using the GeneXpert machine that was also used for testing of TB (Tuberculosis).

DOH-12 records 2 more COVID-19 positive, region now has 22 confirmed

COTABATO CITY - Two new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been listed by the Department of Health in the Soccsksargen region today, raising the COVID-19 positive to 22 in the region.

The 21st patient is a 19-year old from North Cotabato who has travel history to DAvao City and arrived in the province on May 6. He is asymptomatic.

A 70-year-old man from Sarangani is the 22nd patient who has no known travel history to areas where the COVID-19 was reported.

Both of them have no DOH-issued patient numbers as of yet and that both are in stable condition.

40 stranded NoCot residents in GenSan return home

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – At least 40 residents from North Cotabato province who were stranded here due to the implementation of the heightened community quarantine finally returned home on Friday afternoon.

They were transported back to their respective localities through an Army truck commissioned by the provincial government of North Cotabato, head of the city disaster risk reduction and management office (CDRRMO,) Dr. Agripino Dacera Jr., said.

Local, foreign benefactors beef up BARMM's war on COVID-19 

COTABATO CITY --- The war versus the coronavirus in central Mindanao got an added push with a separate P10 million grant and technical support from local and foreign benefactors.

The United Nations Children’s Fund initially turned over Friday to Bangsamoro Local Government Minister Naguib Sinarimbo 20 hand washing sets to complement the COVID-19 containment efforts of the regional government.

Sinarimbo manages the quick deployment Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READI) contingent of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

BARMM remains under General Community Quarantine according to National IATF

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) remains under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) as per National Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19 Resolution No. 35-A.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced on Thursday, May 14, in a press briefer that regions which are classified as low-risk areas, including BARMM, will be placed under GCQ beginning May 16.

Lanao Sur flattens covid 'curves' in May

COTABATO CITY - Lanao del Sur has flattened curves in May, from critical levels of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in March through April, the provincial government disclosed Wednesday.

As this developed, Governor Mamintal Bombit Alonto Adiong appealed to residents to report all instances of irregularities in the disposition of government aid and violation of the community quarantine rules.

By the monitor of local health authorities, curve rose for patients that tested positive on March 20 through March 30 when their number increased to nine.

BARMM converts mothballed hospital into COVID-19 isolation center

PARANG, Maguindanao  – Health authorities in the Bangsamoro Region have converted an idle Parang district hospital into an isolation facilities as the region prepares for a worst case scenario in the fight against coronavirus.

Abandoned for decades due to financial and political issues, the 50-bed Parang District Hospital will soon be ready to accommodate suspected COVID-19 patients, according to Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan, Bangsamoro region health minister.
