A 3-year-old boy from Malabang, Lanao del Sur was the 8^th Covid-19 fatality in the region, according to BARMM Interior Minister Naguib Sinarimbo.

The boy who was suffering from pneumonia was admitted to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center on July 18, was swabbed and expired few hours later.

“The child was already too sick when he was admitted at the CRMC on Friday,” Sinarimbo said of the boy, the 4^th person from Lanao del Sur to have died of coronavirus.

COTABATO CITY --- Central Mindanao’s largest government hospital shall only attend to life threatening emergency cases meantime that 64 of its employees are under observation for COVID-19 infection.

Four patients who hid from the management of the Cotabato Regional Medical Center their respective travel history eventually tested positive to coronavirus, after prolonged contacts with so many CRMC personnel, among them nurses, physicians and other health support providers.

COTABATO CITY --- No fewer than 50 employees in central Mindanao’s largest hospital -- the Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC) -- are under observation on suspicions they have contracted the COVID-19 disease.

Dr. Helen Yambao, CRMC chief, told DXMS Radyo Bida that those they have initially suspected of having been infected with coronavirus are in the nursing service.

No fewer than 30 CRMC employees have reportedly been tested for coronavirus infection but individual results are not out yet.

KORONADAL CITY - Eighteen more residents of Region 12 have been tested positive to novel coronavirus as of Monday night, July 20, raising the total COVID-19 positive patients in the region to 178, health officials said.

Two patients, one from North Cotabato and another from Sarangani, have recovered from the disease.

Nine of the patients were from Sarangani, six from North Cotabato, two from South Cotabato and one from Cotabato City.

The BARMM’s Ministry of Health (MOH) led on Monday, July 20, the kick-off ceremony of the Department of Health’s (DOH) synchronized polio vaccination campaign dubbed ‘Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio’.

The campaign targets to stop the poliovirus outbreak in the country, after 19 years of being polio-free, by immunizing children against the virus.

Health Minister Dr. Saffrullah M. Dipatuan said it is time to bring back the halted pace of DOH-National Immunization program after it was suspended on March 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic.

COTABATO CITY  – Local executives and health officials of Maguindanao, led by Gov. Bai Mariam Mangudadatu today launched the final round of Sabayang Patak Kotra Polio in Datu Odin Sinsuat town to kick-start the 14-day long anti-polio vaccination.

Dr. Elizabeth Samama, Maguindanao health chief and head of Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) and Mayor Cheryl Sinsuat of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao, also joined Mangudadatu in the kick off ceremonies at the town’s covered court Monday morning.

COTABATO CITY - Six more patients have been tested positive to coronavirus in the Soccsksargen region, raising the total number of COVID-19 to 155, the Department of Health in Region 12 said.

Of the six new cases, two are from Sarangani, two from Sultan Kudarat, one from North Cotabato and one from Cotabato City.

All, except the patient from North Cotabato, have traveled history to Manila.

COTABATO CITY - The Department of Health in the Soccsksargen Region today said two new coronavirus cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients, raising the total cases to 149 across the region.

They are both from North Cotabato and have traveled to Manila.

NORTH COTABATO --- Residents of Matalam town are restive for days now, agitated by the clandestine burial in the area of a COVID-19 fatality that their local government unit did not even know.

It was only last Monday that Local officials learned of the improper burial on July 14 in Taculen area in Matalam, North Cotabato of a 45-year-old male, who reportedly died in a hospital in Davao City two days before due to coronavirus infection.
