Muslims can have anti-COVID-19 shots, Darul Iftah says

COTABATO CITY - The Bangsamoro Darul Iftah declared Thursday as “halal” the anti-COVID-19 vaccines being administered to Muslim frontliners in five southern provinces.

Halal means either permissible, or acceptable in Arabic.

The Darul Iftah, also known as the House of Opinions and comprised of clerics, among them graduates of Islamic universities in the Middle East and North Africa, is helping oversee the religious affairs of the regional government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Datu Blah Sinsuat district hospital workers get anti-Covid jabs

UPI, Maguindanao - More than a 100 medical frontliners of Datu Blah District Hospital in Upi, Maguindanao and Datu Odin District Hospital in Dalican have received anti-Covid 19 vaccines during rollout vaccination by the Maguindnao provincial health office.

Dr. Elizabeth Samama, Maguindanao health chief, led the vaccination of frontliners Tuesday and will continue in the next days.

First tranche of U.S. AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine arrives in PH

THE United States has disclosed the arrival to the Philippines of 487,200 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, March 4.

U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires John Law said the vaccines were made available through the COVAX Advance Market Commitment, a global initiative to support equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines.

The United States already has donated Php97.2 billion ($2 billion) to COVAX, by far the largest contribution, to ensure the Philippines and other countries receive COVID-19 vaccines, a statement issued by the U.S. Embassy on Friday said.

2,100 health workers to get BARMM’s first phase of Covid-19 vaccine shots

COTABATO CITY — Bangsamoro health minister Dr. Amirel Usman affirmed that 2, 100 health personnel in the region are the first to receive of Sinovac vaccine, following its arrival on Thursday, March 4, in Cotabato City.

With 4, 200 vials of Sinovac vaccine, each of the health workers shall receive 2 shots, with 4 (four) weeks interval from the first vaccination. This is for phase 1 of the anti-Covid-19 vaccination program of the Bangsamoro Government's Ministry of Health (MOH).

COTABATO CITY - May 20 bagong kaso ng Covid-19 ang naitala ng Dept of Health sa Region 12 hanggang kagabi habang may 11 naman ang gumaling mula sa Covid-19.

Isang 79 years old na babae na taga Kidapawan City ang nasawi dahil sa complication sa Covid.

SA kabu-uan, ang region 12 ay merong 5,505 confirmed Covid-19 positive hanggang kagabi habang may 418 na lang ang active o yaong nasa pagamutan at isolation facility.

Abot naman sa 4,891 ang gumaling na habang 194 ang kumpiramdong nasawi.

More Koronadal City inmates test positive for COVID-19

KORONADAL CITY – Thirty-three more inmates of the police detention facility here have tested positive for novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), raising the number of detainees to have contracted the disease to 54, official said Saturday. 

Dr. Edito Vego, Koronadal City Health Office (CHO), said the 33 new infections were among the 42 second batch of who were swabbed after 21 of their colleagues in the packed lock up cell turned out positive of the disease two days ago.

Umakyat na sa 4,928 ang mga nagpositibo sa coronavirus disease sa bansa. Ito ay matapos makapagtala ang Department of Health ng karagdagang 56 na panibagong kaso ng sakit sa rehiyon.

Pinakamarami sa mga bagong kaso ay taga South Cotabato na umaabot sa 26, General Santos City 23, North Cotabato 5, Sarangani 2 at Sultan Kudarat 1.

Abot naman 32 ang bagong napaulat na pasyenteng gumaling kung kayat meron ng ngayung 4,222 recovered patients sa rehiyon.

IPHO-Maguindanao gets anti-COVID equipment from BARMM 

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro health ministry turned over Monday an ambulance and a refrigerated vaccine transport vehicle to Maguindanao province to boost domestic COVID-19 containment initiatives.

The IPHO-Maguindanao covers 36 towns in the two congressional districts of the province.

Physician Amirel Usman, health minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, personally turned over the equipment to Elizabeth Samama, chief of IPHO-Maguindanao, during a simple rite at the Provincial Hospital compound in Shariff Aguak town.
