Another inmate re-arrested by Maguindanao jail guards

COTABATO CITY - Another detainee who fled the Maguindanao provincial jail early today was rearrested Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.Jail Warden Macapagal Blao said Faizal Macarimbang was rearrested with the help of village officials of Barangay Poblacion 2, Cotabato City.Blao said Macarimbang was sighted in Barangay Poblacion 2 and the jail authorities coordinated with Barangay Chairperson Johair Madag.Madag negotiated with the escapee who quietly surrendered to jail officials at past 2 p.m.Blao said manhunt is still on for the remaining escapee, Fahad Sangki (facing theft charges),

5 inmates bolt Maguindanao jail, 3 recaptured

Wayward truck kills 1, hurt 31 in Kidapawan City

Fire hits Isabela City coast

COTABATO CITY - The Office of Civil Defense in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (OCD-ARMM) today reported a fire incident in Isabela City, Basilan province.The OCD-ARMM said the conflagration erupted at about 5:30 p.m. from unknown origin.In its report, the OCD office said the fire gutted down undetermined number of houses at the Barangay Fort Area, Isabela City.Most of the destroyed houses were made of light materials situated along the coast.

Investors eye Matanog town for investments - mayor

MATANOG, Maguindanao -- Several foreign
investors from Asia, Middle East and South America are now in close contact
with the local government here for investment in agriculture.
