Ex-vice mayor and now state school exec hurt in North Cotabato abmush

KIDAPAWAN CITY– An official of a state-owned college institution in North Cotabato was wounded when a still unidentified gunman shot him while traversing the national highway in President Roxas, around 810 a.m., Saturday, a police officer said. Superintendent Bernard Tayong, spokesperson for the Cotabato Police Provincial Office (CPPO), identified the victim as Cedric Mantawil, planning officer of the Cotabato Foundation College for Science and Technology (CFCST), a government-owned institution located in Barangay Doruluman, Arakan, North Cotabato.

Police official hints Cotabato blasts link to terrorism

Cop hurt, 3 suspects arrested in Maguindanao illegal drug buy bust operation

drug pushers were arrested in a police anti-illegal drug operation in Datu Anggal
Midtimbang town in Maguindanao Sunday, police said.

Phivolcs records 7 quakes in Mindanao one in Luzon

COTABATO CITY -- The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), in its bulletin, on Sunday said it recorded seven earthquakes in Mindanao and one in Luzon in the past 30 hours or since dawn Saturday.The latest strong tremor was of magnitude 5.7, tectonic in origin and traced 58 kilometers west of Bolinao, Pangasinan, the Phivolcs here said in its bulletin.It happened at 3:40 a.m.

Series of earthquakes hit Davao Occ, North Cotabato

COTABATO CITY - A magnitude 5.2 earthquake today hit Davao Occidental, the second in the area in an hour, the fifth in Mindanao on Saturday,the
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said in its
bulletin.

The quake, traced 34 kilometers east of Saranggani town in Davao
Occidental, was tectonic in origin and occurred at 8:29 p.m.

It has a depth of focus of 126 kilometers.

No casualty or damage to property was reported. Intensity I was
felt in Gen. Santos City and Saranggani provincial capitol in Alabel town.
