Higit 20 katao sugatan sa karambola ng mga sasakyan sa South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY - Mahigit 20 sugatan sa karambola ng apat na mga sasaskyan sa Tupi South Cotabato Naganap ang vehicular crash pasado alas tres ng kahapon sa national highway barangay Crossing Rubber Tupi, South Cotabato.

Ang insidente ay ikinsugat naman ng mahigit dalawampu katao. Ito ay ayon kay South Cotabato Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Rolly Doane Aquino.

Over 5K military medical front-liners vaccinated so far

MANILA – At least 5,293 medical front-liners of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have been inoculated so far with the Sinovac Biotech's CoronaVac vaccines as many have responded to the call, AFP public affairs office chief Navy Capt. Jonathan Zata said on Monday.

Zata said the vaccinees came mostly from military treatment facilities (MTFs) in the National Capital Region (NCR) and the 4th Infantry Division in Cagayan De Oro.

DOH-12 provides vaccines for Cotabato City frontliners

COTABATO CITY --- The Deparment of Health-12 has earmarked 2,138 anti-coronavirus jabs for personnel of two medical institutions that are both inside the Bangsamoro region.

The Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC) and the Cotabato Sanitarium Hospital are located in Cotabato City and in Sultan Kudarat town in Maguindanao, respectively.

Roque says AstraZeneca vaccines arriving on March 4

MANILA – The Philippines is scheduled to receive the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines from United Kingdom’s (UK) AstraZeneca on Thursday, Malacañang announced on Wednesday.

“This is to confirm that the initial shipment of Astra Zeneca is set to arrive tomorrow,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a press statement.

The Philippines was supposed to receive on March 1 around 525,600 doses of Covid-19 shots developed by AstraZeneca under Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) Facility.

8 Northern Kabuntalan gunmen yield, turn in guns to police

MAGUINDANAO – Eight gunmen surrendered firearms to the police in separate symbolic rites the past two days, voluntary gestures that local officials are certain many will emulate.

The eight gun owners in Barangays Gayonga and Damatug, both in Northern Kabuntalan, yielded machine pistols, shotguns, a shoulder-fire M79 grenade launcher, assault rifles and a home-made .50 caliber bolt-action sniper rifle.

CIDG-BAR starts probe on murder of Malabang market administrator

LANAO DEL SUR --- Personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (CIDG-BAR) started probing Sunday on the fatal ambush last week in Malabang, Lanao del Sur of Rauf Malawani, market administrator in the municipality.
 
The victim was a maternal uncle of the first-termer Malabang Mayor Tomas Macapodi, whose clan and political supporters have decided to let the CIDG-BAR identify the culprits for prosecution.

Negosyante na nagpapatayo ng car wash, patay sa pamamaril sa Koronadal

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato - Binaril at napatay ng di pa nakikilang mga suspect ang isang negosyante sa Barangay Sta. Cruz bago magtanghali kanina.

Kinilala ang biktima na si Peter Carreon, isang negosyante at taga Barngay Topland, Koronadal City.

Ayon sa ilang mga saksi, binisita ni Carreon ang kaniyang ipinapatayong carwash sa Crossing Diaz, Barangay Sta Cruz mga alas 11:45 ng umaga nang ito ay pagbabarilin ng isa sa dalawang suspect na sakay ng motorsiklo.

Si Carreon ay nasawi on the spot dahil sa tama ng bala sa dibdib.

UPDATE: A stronger quake hits Magsaysay, Davao Sur anew, this time its Magnitude 6.3

KIDAPAWAN CITY - A stronger quake believed to be an aftershock of Sunday morning's tremor rocked Magsaysay, Davao del Sur anew.

The magnitude 6.3 quake was tectonic in origin and came at 12:22 p.m. about 5 hours after a magnitude 4.8 quake jolted Magsaysay town.

The earlier quake was traced 9 kilometers east of Magsaysay while the 12:22 p.m. tremor was located 8 kilometers east of the same town.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said afterschocks are expected.
